I just started watching "Insidious" and it was so bad by minute 30 I turned that shit off and came here to make sure you all avoid it. I had to go read some reviews to make sure I wasn't just not giving it a chance and found plenty of them confirming what i thought; total cliche haunted house crap.

I think I 'reviewed' that here awhile back. It is, indeed, a fucking horrible movie.

Demon Lung

But it's not the house that was haunted. It was the girl

Demon Lung

Or wasnt that one about a demon coming into "the human world"? And they left it open for a part 2. Why do the have part 2's of movies that were horrible in the first place?

As shitty (and DUMB) as the movie is from the start, the ending is infinitely worse.  Mutant, you were lucky to have bailed.  I unfortunately did not and it sounds like my bro suffered the ending too.

I saw that pile of turds too.

A Dangerous Method arrives tomorrow.  Tonight I think it's The Debt

Dude, I suffered through every last minute of 'Insidious' and it was painful. I thought the ending was ultra stupid, and was really disappointed with the whole thing. I think it was one of those movies that tried to pay homage to some of the classic horror movies of the past, and utterly failed. The supposed 'scary' parts left me rolling my eyes, and the plot devices come off as so tired and contrived. It was just awful.

Lumpy

"Eastern Promises" and "A History of Violence" are both top-notch.

Eastern Promises seems completely ordinary at first (eliciting a "WTF happened to Cronenberg") but stick with with it, it's worth it.

Cronenberg "Mk II" is a little hard to adjust to (dropped some of his early gore themes) but turns out he's a great director, and he doesn't need exploding heads to get by.

The latest one about Freud and Jung has some S&M elements... I still need to rent that.
Rock & Roll is background music for teenagers to fuck to.

Not bad. Sorta what I expected.

The Shocker

Red x Will.

Very strange.  I watched it mainly cause Stevie from Eastbound and Bound is in it.  Have to digest it before I can say if I liked it or not.  Basically the plot is 2 guys go on a canoe trip and really weird shit happens.

mutantcolors

the fuck does that title say? Catechcism Cataclysm? Looks like a death metal band logo.

Fuck me again.  The movie was Killer Elite.

You should preview your posts with pics.  Are you basically just hotlinking?

The Glimmer Man.

Steven Seagal is some kind of Buddist policeman. Keenan Ivory Wayans is also a policeman. Brian Cox is trying to be a rich Southern CIA-type guy.

I made it the whole way through.

I felt like I was watching a comic book the entire time.

Another sci-fi you've kinda seen before.  In a post apopcolyptic world there's a city with the rich and it's surrounded by 12 districts who are poor.  Once a year they draw for a boy and girl from each district who fight to the death which is televised and everybody loves it in the rich city. A little bit of the Truman Show, the Running man, and others. Throw in some other things in the plot for more drama.  Movie was done well as far as acting and scene shots. A bit too long as well.  I give it a mediocre rating.

CanookieWookie

Not bad actually. Lots of good fighting. It reminded me of a video game.
