Title: Food you can't stop eating
Post by: The Shocker on February 14, 2012, 04:21:40 PM
Until you've eaten way too much and feel gross.

For me the #1 is:

Deviled eggs.  Man I just can't stop eating them.

also:
Boiled shrimp, crawfish, crabs and peanuts.

Cheese puffs, cold cuts, pizza. If I eat enough pizza then all that I smell is cheese which is bothersome because the smell of cooked cheese in beard smells horrible. I have to wash my beard soon afterwards. And hotdogs. Those hotdogs like ball park  that have both pork and beef in them . I will eat those raw

My mom made this when we were kids. You have to keep it simple or it loses it's charm.
Mix together 1 egg, lean ground beef, and the rice only from the Rice-A-Roni box
Make your meatballs and brown them in a skillet with a little butter.
In a separate bowl or measuring cup, mix together the seasoning package with about 1 1/2 cups to 2 cups water and pour it over the meatballs in the skillet. Bring it to a low boil, then simmer until meatballs are cooked.
....and there you have it! "Crack balls"!

That's ok, I still love you.

Mertz, the recipe is similar except my dad made a tomato sauce for ours.  I don't remember what they were served with - probably more rice or mashed potatoes.  My dad has been a vegetarian for over 30 years now.  All his great meat recipes died when he had his triple bypass.

The only thing I have a problem with stopping is chocolate. If it's in front of me it's going down the gullet. I simply cannot have a piece of chocolate bar and then put the rest away for later, I don't care how big it is.

For me it's probably cured meats.  If there's prosciutto or cappacola or salumi in the house......can't stop.

A close second would be chips and salsa.  Cheese is just a way of life.

There's almost always a "SUPER 3-POUND BAG" in my fridge.

That's more food I won't stop eating, though.

I used to be really bad about Cheez-its, especially the white cheddar and tabasco flavors.  Those things are the fucking devil.

Mertz, you basically boil green peanuts in the shell with a shitload of salt/water.  Cook them for hours/all day until they get soft.

You can buy them everywhere here. They even sell them at football games.   I like them boiled in crab boil.

Mashed potatoes (made with plenty of butter and warm milk) Or if I'm in a puddingy frame of mind, liter cartons of custard can disappear pretty fucking quickly. I have a big appetite for my size (5ft 9, 13 stone) my wife is constantly amazed by what I can put away. I did tell her she should be used to it by now as we've been together 12 years.

I never heard of this. Sounds awesome.

In Poland they sell steamed salted fava beans on the street. You just walk around sucking them out of their skins and farting up a storm. I also cannot stop eating those.

Edit: I'm adding dried mango slices to my food addictions. The weird thing is I don't like fresh mango at all.

They truly do, but what's up with that weird looking cob of corn ?

Also, I think the pot (left) and other ceramic ware add to the pic... well, it's all really cool except for the corn.

it should be, true, but what is actually pictured is some old-ass sweet corn or some picked-green-but-then-left-to-get-old-ass field dent. there's just too much space for it to be an effect of spice in the cracks.

Those rubbery candy peanuts are foul.

I get really into certain brands/types of chips. I don't really care for them but if they're around I can't stop. My favorite are those Hawaiian Luau bbq chips made by Tim's Cascade chips. They have one of the best/sweetest bbq flavors coupled with a really nice spicy quality. The spicy part reminds me of those hot fries potato chips I ate as a kid. The only problem I have is these luau bbq chips have an inconsistent quality from bag to bag. More often then not, they aren't seasoned enough with the bbq seasoning and are just like those aforementioned hot fries. I think they do that so people won't get addicted to their chips. If not, I would eat them daily and I don't even like chips that much.
