Looks amazing, and some sort of a remake was warranted, even if it isn't true in the sense.

Pretty good pilot but I am curious how the story develops. So far it feels close to the movie, although I havn't seen it in decades.
The use of music is cool and I liked the writing and structure of the episode, esp. the "couldn't hurt a living thing"-ending.

...yeah the fly swatting was real creepy
this is breathtakingly good so far
better than i thought it would be and i had high hopes
the original movie is one of my alltime faves it was my favourite movie for years as a kid
too much good stuff in this this to even start going
so i just mention the automatic saloon piano playing black hole sun
I liked how they teased like it might go Michael Bay and then Hannibal Lector put that over zealous little geek in his place.
Does each episode in this show cost 20 miilion dollars?

The generic douchebag guy derailed it - the story could have been better told with an interesting character in his place.

The newbie character was great. I don't think much of either prostitute. The people that work behind the scenes - are all laughable.

This show needs a lot more work.

Yep, agreed. I enjoy the unpredictability as I watch the show, very dark tones. Find myself sort of shifting in my seat because I'm a bit anxious, Ed Harris I can do without. Still REALLY enjoy the show

   I agree with MJS

The addition of Lyle the Intern is good.

I dunno the behind the scenes guy's names - the mean woman, the black guy, and Anthony Hopkins - but they better make that whole bit make a lot more sense if they are going somewhere with this.

When mean woman and black guy were shown to be in a relationship I groaned a little bit - is that the story-line?

Plus, the size of that ootfit and only three people in charge.

I'm going to give the show one more episode and then I'm out. I get the impression that the makers of the show focused more on making it "artsy" and looking good than the actual storytelling.  It's a cool concept but it's the whole thing is getting too convoluted

I think the argument of it is so close to achieving greatness but then goes off in 3/4 different ideas of what it wants to be messes with it. Overall, I'll stick it out for the rest of the season in hopes it becomes more clear the second season in.

Fell asleep twice during episode 3 but I was really tired.

A lot of the dialogue between those two stupid characters that went out looking for the stray was pretty ham-fisted and terrible.

I think it's excellent how Marilyn Manson's ex girlfriend can look both manly and beautiful from shot to shot.

That one guy looks exactly like Christian Slater. All I can think of is Pump up the Volume every time he's on screen

looks like slater indeed
last episode was brilliant
hbo got big plans with this show so i read
they are planning to feature the other "worlds" (ancient rome and middle ages) of the ´73 film as well and create new ones not featured in the original movie (my bet: mob era chicago will be one of them)
hope they don´t screw it up

God, what an overwritten and pretentious mess this turned out to be. I watched all episodes in the course of a week (binge-watching lite) but that made all these reccuring loops even more tiresome. And the overacting made sense in the beginning (robots performing narratives in a themepark etc.) but especially Evan Rachel Wood became unbearable to watch. Every silly twist was simply explained with overwritten code except for the big one but
if two actors play the same character at different ages they should at least try to act in similar ways. I am not talking about looling alike, Ed Harris and Jimmi Simpson had absolutly nothing in common. At least Harris should be capable of more.
Big TV-letdown of 2016.

I have to kinda agree
I so wanted to like this and it started quite good but it really turned sour after like episode three
the robots revenge scene in the last episode was quite cool but between the good first three episodes and this it was plain boring
Overwritten quite nails it
They were definitely trying too hard

The Maevre character story line sort of saved it for me.

i actually think it started way better than it ended
everything got so horribly overblown towards the end

I kept falling asleep during the first 4.   I guess I'll check out season 2.   Not that necessary but there is a post credits scene.

The Maevre character story line sort of saved it for me.

I wish the show centered on her, Ford,  Bernard, and the outside world,  rather than weepy Dolores.

They could get rid of the 'evil corporate takeover', the douchebag, the man in black and that really stupid 'maze' storyline.

The scenes with the two nerds that work on the Robots down in the basement could be a high point of the show but those actors are joyless. Painful.

They could keep the idea of William without him being only presented as traumatized. He could have moral quandaries that we, as viewers, would obviously have. He could be overly curious about the Disney corp instead of a more generic 'what the fuck is this place'.

Then we could meet the bad guys and all that corporate stuff in later seasons.

I'm stupid, so I watched a couple of season 3.  Is this show about anything?

I might cancel HBO.
