Title: Honky, Amplified Heat: Houston, TX 08/20/11

Should have done this review earlier but just got caught up.

Played The Continental Club in Houston, for those who know, kind of an institution in Austin and a place that is home to Honky, so it made sense for their stop there.

Was only able to catch the 2nd half of Amplified Heat's set. Pretty cool stuff. A stacked wall of Bassman cabinets behind them. A cool mix of Cream/blues/desert rock came to mind. Definitely gets you in the mood for rocking.

Honky came on next, making jokes about the Ian Moore. If you love Marshall Tucker band, Black Oak Arkansas, and ZZ Top mixed with punk, these are your guys. Played all the classics and more.

Overall a great show. Honky is touring with Fu Manchu this November, I suggest you catch them.
