I really dug Edgar Rice Burroughs' Barsoom tales when I read them years back (A Princess of Mars, etc.), and was initially skeptical when I heard there was a movie in the works.  Now that I've seen two trailers, I'm cautiously optimistic...   Anyone else looking forward to this one in March?

The Shocker

My dad had a collection of those books and I read them when I was a kid.  I remember them being pretty cool,  it would be nice if the movie turned out to be good.

Yeah, the books were a lot of fun, and the same goes for the Tarzan series.

I'll definitely try to see the film.

I liked the movie but I've never read the books.

i find it hard to understand how john carter purists are digging this movie.  they changed just about EVERYTHING.  they took all of the characters, turned them inside out and upside down and cooked up an entirely different storyline.  i recognized almost nothing that i was looking at.  i couldn't get into the movie cuz i was just completely lost.
