Dudes....do y'all have these in your practice spaces yet??

We used to have a soda machine right outside of the doors to where the our practice space is, and that's been replaced by another vending machine, a "24 hour music store".  No joke, you can can buy individual strings, picks, tuners, all sorts of accessories including actual fucking pedals.

Has anyone else seen this?  It's totally blowing my mind that this is a thing, not because I'm going to buy from it or anything, just.....????

I did see that somewhere.  Strings, picks, 9volts, inst cable make sense but pedals?!

Our old practice space, the junkies would have broken into it inside the  first week.
Vinyls.   deal.

All the ones ive seen have an armed guard with them.

Yes. There's a snack vending machine in our rehearsal hall that has strings, picks, capos, etc.

I need to take a pic of it

The guy who runs the place lives there, and he's a super cool guy whom no one is going to steal from.

The HUGE rehearsal hall which unfortunately just shut down had an actual music store in the front lobby. Then they built a cafe.

Now it's going to be a Tesla show room :(

In the early Damnweevil days we rehearsed at a place a few times that had cans of beer in a vending machine as well as Russian cigarettes in an old cigarette vending machine, which had been basically outlawed in California for like 15 years at that point.

One of the delis by my practice space has things like guitar strings behind the counter. Also seen a vending machine with music stuff at a commercial practice space.
Rock & Roll is background music for teenagers to fuck to.

Hahaha @dinger

The rehearsal hall in question used to be an old folks home many many years ago. Probably haunted.

Would be a complete shithole except the guy running it has been doing a great job fixing it up and improving it. Him and a buddy have been building a small disc golf course in the back parking lot/field.

Rad as hell little place. Hope gentrification overlooks it.

One of the local music venues, which is also a music store, has one of these in the venue area. It has strings, picks, batteries in it.

What kind of pedals does the one by your practice space have in it?  That's pretty wild

Someone should put a bar in a practice space. And weed shop. And a cafe.  And sure, a music shop.  That's the way to go.

I mean, we're pretty close to that, sort of.  Sonelab studios, where Dinosaur Jr, The Pixies, Black Pyramid, bunch of the local bands all record, owns the practice spaces we use in this old converted mill building called Eastworks.  There are two breweries also in Eastworks, with tasting rooms and outdoor patio seating.  There's a dispensary, there's a restaurant and little bar on the far end.  There's also an indoor park, though I haven't checked it out yet.

The breweries and bar aren't geared towards rockers and musicians though, you know? They all hang at a bar about a mile away.

In Raleigh, the old Volume 11 Tavern had rehearsal space around the perimeter.  Rock bands and a rock club, load in/out would have been pretty painless.

There was a dance club at one point in the NODA studios building when we first moved in.  It was weird.  1:00am and some party chicks were there with their 8yo kids. That didn't last long.
