Title: Kilslug and The Jabbers @ Church Boston MA April 3rd
Post by: colonic rocker on April 05, 2011, 07:40:45 PM
Finally made it to see the reformed Kilslug, obscure Boston band from the 80's that did dirgey doom type stuff who later transformed into Upside Down Cross in the 90's.
They played for about an hour of brain damaging, plodding doom with the one of a kind vocals of Larry Lifeless, looked like they picked Larry up from the homeless shelter 1/2 hr before the show but he knew the lyrics. Also had original members Rico Petroleum and Big Daddy, actually it was the same band that played as the Groinoids about two years ago (with different 'singer')
Also playing, the Jabbers, who (I think) were GG Allin's original backing group, played a set of primordial, anti social punk. Vocalist (I think) was Wimpy who used to play with the Queers a long time ago and has that ageless punk rock frontman persona.
Really good time with a small but appreciative crowd, even a micro mosh circle for the Jabbers.
