That is not too many strings for a War guitar or a Chapman Stick. War guitar is two hand tapped, it is not played like a conventional guitar.

mortlock

Major rager on the 4 string motherfucker.

A string for every finger, and a chicken in every pot. (The Nu Deal)

I'm working on a project, one of the guys plays Chapman Stick. It wasn't good. Too many strings and frets mean "too many notes" (wanking). We got him to switch to 7 string guitar. I don't know if the project will last. People who play stick are usually huge music geeks, well versed in theory, can read music, etc. All of that is usually in direct opposition to rock&roll.
