That's just scrapple on a hero roll. I guess that's the bare minimum to be called a sub?

$3.89 a lb?
$too high

Lumpy

It's literally scraps and filler, and spices. It's supposed to be cheap.

RAGER

Several meals can be made out of that so $3.89 ain't bad.

Im thinking about $30 worth of scrapple should cover a 4 man team for 2 weeks in portlock alaska.

Lumpy

Not the way you'd race through it.

Is that for an upcoming Alaska tour? Sweet.

I guess the way to assess the cost of scrapple is to compare it to the cost of bacon or breakfast sausage. It's less expensive than bacon per pound (?) and about the same price as sausage.

not a tour. Check the mortlock to the red phone thread. Let me know if you want in.

Lumpy

Oh, right. Scrapple is a good idea, because when you cook it you can literally smell it for miles. That will draw Bigfoot out of hiding.

RAGER are you using 2 types of gochugaru in the 'chi?

RAGER

Aha!  Good eye!  Yes. One is fine and spicier. The other is a bit mild and us flakier. I like the combo. I use the finer stuff when making gochujang

Hi Ranger, any cooking related birthday gift ideas for my friend who likes to cook and is into Thai and SE Asian food? She has a garden where she grows kaffir limes (kaffir lime leaves?) LOL she's not a noob like me. Maybe one of the places you order supplies from has a gift certificate? She lives in Philly, she says there is a lot of good Vietnamese food, but not a lot of good Thai food. What do you get for the person who has everything? Big grill etc. Might have to get a cd box set or something else.
