Title: What's your favorite pasta shape?
Post by: RAGER on March 22, 2014, 12:46:40 PM
I love campanelle, orcchiette, and strascinati.

Campanelle is good, but i rarely see it at the markets I go to.

Rotini is what I buy the most often. It's in every store. It holds a lot of sauce. Easy to cook with. Easy to eat with a fork. You don't chase them around your plate (goddamn you, medium shells).

Farfalle (bow ties) same as above.

Cavatappi (spiral tubes) are okay, but don't see it very often. (Pic bigger than actual size)

Rotelle (wagon wheels) are okay, but they look more interesting than they are, or whatever. Woe unto you, if they are breaking apart.

i'm down with a lot of 'em, but i lead an almost entirely pasta-free existence these days, since the ol' lady can't do gluten and is now trying to avoid milled grains/flour of any sort. some of those above look real nice.

Linguini; although for the life of me I can't understand why I think it tastes so much better than spagetti.
