Title: Monster Magnet in Detroit
Post by: lftwng4 on November 16, 2013, 08:51:29 AM
A couple of photos from last nights show.

Anti-Mortem opened up, some good, some bad, overall not my thing.

Royal Thunder was next.  They came out strong, but kinda slowed down.  Tight band, what is it with strong female singers from Georgia?

Monster Magnet was pretty great.  Only 2 off the new one, the band was locked into their groove immediately, did the obligatory arena jams, but mostly played off the first few albums.  For so early in the tour, these guys are functioning as a well-oiled space rock machine.

Kosnik from TAB is playing bass right now, and killing it. They tore up seattle last night. Having the Bitchwax rhythm section is good for monster magnet, now they just need Finn Ryan to play lead and TAB can open every show...(wishful thinking)

I'm digging the new album... do you remember which 2 songs they played from it?

They played Last Patrol as an 11 minute encore, and End of Time.
