It was O.K., Cumberbatch was a decent choice and the movie did keep me guessing a little. Robocop Weller was a nice addition, but ultimately I'm not too keen on Pine as Kirk.
Cumberbatch's voice was a delight to listen to.
wtf is a cumberbatch?

Benedict Cumberbatch
Oh, that guy. I like his eggs.
SPOILER ALERT:
Why couldn't they get a Hispanic/Mexican guy for his role? I mean really..
The direct link sucks. It plays better off the page. It's on top:
Red Letter Media, Half in the Bag Star Trek Review.

i thought they were a little harsh on the dumb plot holes in star trek given how much they forgave the dumb plot holes in iron man 3, but otherwise they were pretty spot-on. well, the big dark-haired guy that voices plinkett anyway. i usually agree with his opinion and i'm rarely on board with chin-beard, who has a giant sam raimi boner i just don't understand.
This movie wandered around a bit in the plotting but otherwise was what you'd expect.
Basically this movie is for Star Trek fans who have ADD.
MJS has ED. Does that count?
BAAAAM!
it was no Prometheus..
Thank God.

Yeah, since Singh is such a typical Latino surname. /nerd spoiler

Yeah but R.M. had a thick latino accent. Why not have an actor that sort of reflects that?
Man I dunno. I thought Mssr. Cumberbatch acquitted himself handily.
Either way, I dug this flick. Not as much as the first one (probably because the concept was no longer novel), but I did fanboy squee pretty dang hard when they were on Chronos. Chronos! Warbirds! Squee!
I'm looking forward to the next "five year mission" flick.
Not blown away but enjoyed this movie.
As for Montalban vs Cumberbatch:
If Star Trek were a theater production, Montalban would be the better Khan out of sheer over the top charisma.
But in the film, Cumberbatch was more of an all around motherfuckin bad ass.
Sent from a can on some string using Tapatalk
It had some good action sequences, but overall it was 'meh'.

I agree. I prefer Montalban over Cumberbatch personally. I like the over the topness (is that a word?)
