Title: Toy Soldiers: Cold War
Post by: Beerjerk on August 25, 2011, 12:42:49 AM
Been digging this on Xbox Arcade. Imagine every 80's Cold War movie and stereotype rolled into one game. Red Dawn, Rambo, Full Metal Jacket, with 70's hard rock and 80's cock rock thrown in. You fight Communist forces in Small Town USA, Vietnam, Cuba, Berlin, Paris, and other locales. The game is pretty much a tower defense game mixed with first person shooter. You place different kinds of turrets around the field, then control any turret you wish via first or third person mode. Soldiers are all action figures who blow up into little pieces once they die, and the action takes place in a playset diorama in some kid's bedroom full of 80's stuff including a Walkman, IBM green screen computer, keyboard/guitar, a radio playing music from Rocky IV. Lots of 80's nostalgia on this one.
