So I jammed on a pelham blue epi firebird a few months back. And played a single pickup red Gibby the other day. I think my next guitar purchase will be a firebird for sure. I'm in love.
ive often thought about getting a t-bird bass but I never seem to pull the trigger.
I like 'em. A lot.

looks like your epi is the same as what ill probably be getting by the end of jan as the pelham blue is on sale for $299 at guitar center, have many issues with the place, but price is always an issue. that bass is gorgeous, what's the story behind it?
The bass is just a sick fantasy of mine. I had money from selling another bass and the body and neck were in the Warmoth showcase. I didn't really need another 8-string, I did it just because I could. It sounds huge, but it's a bit neck heavy with all the tuners.
Epi Firebird is great, it's my main guitar for heavy stuff. I got it for next to nothing, just installed a set of Duncans and gave it a good setup and it easily keeps up with guitars 2-3 times the price.
I love the look of thunderbirds but I absolutely hate the way that they play
Yea - not a fan of the T/F-bird basses - the reach to the lower frets throws me off - they sure do look Purdy tho
Also love the look of a Thunderbird but at this point I'm so married to the feel of a P-Bass I'm stuck with it.
Feels physically weird to play anything else, even a Jazz bass.
