This may be better suited to GenDisc, but I much prefer the Jam Room, so... anyway..
Everytime I hear Greg Kihn - The Breakup Song, I feel a special kind of awesome. It makes me want a Camaro, and a long desert road, and an afternoon free of technology.
Another one: Aldo Nova - Fantasy. When that song comes on, wherever I am I feel like the world can sense me smiling huge on the inside, regardless of if I'm actually smiling. Although if that song is playing, I'm probably smiling hard.
Anyone else have songs like this?
Samothrace - Awkward Hearts always makes me sit and think, even on the most hectic days...
Not a song but Funhouse makes me want to play guitar, bass and drums and write songs and lyrics. Best kind of music.
circus music and rides..
American girl Tom Petty. It reminds me of high school, which I hated but it reminds me of the few good times I had. Also the reminds me of fast times.
kyuss "odyssey"
till this day, makes me think of a high speed cruise through the desert, sunset, orange hues on the horizon, altered mentally, light weight arms/legs/head, spacey feelings, the highway goes to infinite, pondering all unknown questions, good times, the song takes me back and leaves a smile on my face!
Everlong. F'ing love that song.
Stinkfist I love the first main riff after the intro and the weird bridge that is kinda a solo is really intense.
stellar master elite by thorns makes me feel like i am 10 men
Not a song but...Misfits- Collection 1 (the one with the big green skull on it). They have been my favorite band since i was 13 and this particular album just brings back feelings of youth and the invincibility of being young. Always reminds me of sitting by a fire in the woods with my buddies drinking stolen beer until we would puke!
Gentle Giant - The Advent of Panurge
Sunblood- Hidden Hand ... Cause I think it's the last truly Spirit Caravan-esque song he did, like a good book-end.

Fast Times?
Did you have a girlfriend like this?

Tarpit carnivore - Torche
you guys have an awesome list in this thread already
the advent of panurge is pretty epic for sure.(I like alucard also)
and life is just a fantasy is an awesome tune. like it was his 1 hit wonder song
green grass and high tides when I was coming down a long hill, I may have seen god that morning leaving Nashville w on I-40
the most epic song ever conceived is genesis "the cinema show" on selling England by the pound
the tucker boys, long hard ride, the live version with Charlie Daniels guest fiddlin' WOW
^(have it all on vinyl too booyah)
some songs just make me want to throw the barstool through the front window with their energy, like a different intense
GWAR penguin attack , FU evil eye, prehistoric dog red fang, ELP Toccata, priest painkiller
edit: not to suck up or anything, but stay gold is pretty awesome too.
here's proof. I fire bowls to this song and I am going to cover it. maybe some day you guys can help me with some of the guitar part details
tom petty. he is his own genre called tom petty.
real centered Americana rock sound
Chevy Van. Makes me miss the days of awesome vans. I was too young to appreciate them correctly when they were popular and everywhere. Born in 1970.
these will probably crop up over time.
this tune was the neatest guitar I had heard when this came out. I still always pay attention when I hear this song.
I love this fucking song and I have no idea why. It contributed to me wrecking my last car because I was rocking out to it.

Awesome. Glad you like it. The studio version will be on an EP that's coming out after the Garnet album. And I'd be happy to tell you anything you want to know about the guitar part stuff. It's a fun song to play, and we play it at almost every show.
Also, agreed on Selling England by the Pound. << good stuff right there.
Adding to the list of songs that make me feel awesome:
Iron Maiden- Revelations. I listen to this one a lot when I'm on a bike. It just takes me away from stupid shit.

Applauded. Not so much for this- "I love this fucking song", but for this- "It contributed to me wrecking my last car because I was rocking out to it".
Certain songs can just rule me sometimes. When Maserati- "Show Me the Season" comes on, sometimes I'll just shut everything else down without even knowing it. Wife on mute, kids are in bubbles, work disappears, and I live inside that song for a 5 minutes. Probably frustrating for them but a good time for me. Doesn't happen very often like that though.
This whole record in general, but especially this track makes me feel fucking awesome in ways I can't understand.
Chainsaw - the Ramones
Hallowed be thy name - Maiden
So many really . I need to make a playlist

Total Desperado moment
I turn off tunes that DON'T make me feel awesome, haha, but here's one that comes to mind:
Seed of memory by Terry Reid
Sabbra Cadabra - Black Sabbath
Fairies Wear Boots - Black Sabbath
No Fun - the stooges
1970 - the stooges
Search & Destroy - Iggy & The Stooges
Purple Haze - Jimi Exp
Smoke On The Water - Deep Purple, etc.

Sorry to hear about your car but you are right in loving this song. It's great. This can not be denied. I realized this a few years back. A shitload of '80s Michael Jackson songs are also great.
That Misfits song M&B posted is also great.
I'm glad that I'm not the only one that digs Africa.
Peter Gabriel makes some really kickass songs that really make me feel awesome...... even if some of them are depressing.
I probably watch these videos at least 5 times a week
I've always wanted to do a cover of this song
frank Marino- Strange Dreams
Eric Burdon & War "Spill The Wine"
Should probably be filed under 'guilty pleasures'.... This bass line is probably the reason I keep an envelope filter on my pedal board.
And now for something completely different.... I've been listing to a lot of HM lately.. Guitar solo at about 2 minutes makes my heart swell every time.
This always gets me grooving.
3 x
She Done Moved by The Spats, in case one has better sound quality.
I like the lyrics as much as the music.
Agreed on Peter Gabriel. I'm a big fan of his stuff. Some of the stuff from that newish live album, "Live Blood" is really good, and indeed makes me feel awesome... San Jacinto being one of them.
Also agreed on Terry Reid "Seed of Memory". I love the sound of the snare drum in that song.
Playing my own compositions makes me feel much more awesome than listening to (or playing) someone else's. The older I get, the less time I spend listening to music. I've made a conscious decision to put most of my time & effort into composing, learning, and practicing.
That said, when I DO listen, it's stuff like this that makes me feel the best these days:
here's another
Great video as well
