Title: Aguirre, The Wrath of God / Cobra Verde
Post by: Danny G on September 09, 2017, 04:47:03 PM
Finally happened across a Herzog/Kinski marathon the other night.

I was generally a little underwhelmed by both films as a whole (I didn't see CV all the way through)

I was impressed by the location shots and armies of extras. Particularly how in Aguirre they are Really Out In The Jungle Filming This Shit

Did I miss something?

I find them slow, but fascinating.  There's always something interesting happening in his movies.  I like his documentaries a lot better.

Watched a short doc by him the other night (on Youtube) on a woman who survived a midair plane explosion.  He was supposed to be on the flight.

I went to an all day Masterclass with Herzog about a month ago. One of the most impressive speakers I've ever seen.
