Seller's pics. I took it to my tech to get cleaned and set up right after I bought it so I haven't taken pictures yet. I've wanted one of these since the first time I saw them probably 15 year ago. So stoked.

Oh wow! Nice bass! They're supposed to great for down tuning.
Nice moves! Does it still have the original MOOG guts?
Sweet. Love the shape of those.
Yup! The only thing not original are the tuners. Used to have the cloverleaf but seller said they crapped out a while ago & he replaced them w/ these. He'd owned it since 1997 & got it from his grandpa who he says was a roadie for Skynyrd and claims to have gotten it from Leon Wilkeson. Not sure if this is true or not, but it's a cool back story if it is. Switches and input jack were a little scratchy and the finish isn't super pretty anymore, but all in all it's an awesome sounding and playing bass & I love it.
that's awesome.
score brotha!
Can I have it?
That thing has a rad bridge. Nice!

Also a pain in the ass bridge. I have one on my EB-3 and it sucks to adjust/intonate. Once it's done it's cool but they're rad until you have to change something.
Man, those are killer (both the Moog elects. and the std. issue ones), heavy (maple, jah?) but mojo for days...cheers on that !
sweet bass..

This is bullshit, you are not Lippy.
Just picking up the slack in his absence. Someone's gotta do it. Haha.
Clips!
Cool bass.
cool bass
young widows got that too...

How heavy would you say it is?
If I weren't so scrawny I could play big basses like that.
I have a T-40 thats clearly too heavy for me to play out.
I think my limit is like 11 lbs.

Dude from Young Widows actually has a couple First Act customs now. Saw them last week and the Gibson didn't make an appearance. :( I'd figure the bass weighs about 14lbs. I played a T-40 for a while & it didn't really bother me much, but I'm a fairly big dude & really only play 30-40 minute sets so it's not like I'm up there for hours or anything.
Here's his new custom. It's awesome.

ah shit, everyones got them now. saw trap them had em too when I saw them w/ converge in may. also the guitarist used 2 70's SVT's. Sounded sick.
yeah, I'm 5'7" 140 w/ rocks in my pockets. If I can't swing a t40, no chance I'll ever be able to go with most old gibsons, too bad.
my P's will have to do.
Rob from Solace plays(ed) one, and Reid from Rwake/Nachtmystium has the First Act Custom version. I think AJ from Grey might have one, too. Anyway I likes 'em
The chick from Grey plays a thunderbird?
Yea that's hot Luna, she's got a different name now at the other place.
So I might be stupid, probably am but what's with the moog? What does that do for you?

Compression, expansion, bright mode, and all the pots run -5 to +5 instead of 0 to 10.

Yep, she has/had a 'bird but she got an RD (I think the one with the onboard electronics), I remember her posting aboot it on the old bizzoard.
Stuart from Burning Witch/Goatsnake/Asva/etc plays one too.
He almost sold it once on the Southern Lord forum, but people convinced him to keep it.
in that shot of the young widows above, isn't that the RD leaning against his cabinet? looks like a gibson headstock and it clearly has the back cavity cover big enough for the moog electronics.

I knew I was forgetting someone, he's playing it in that classic PBS clip

No, it's his First Act Delgada. Bassically an RD though... In shape, anyway.

oh. cuz the one leaning against the cab is a set neck, string through body, a square symmetrical headstock and has a huge cavity cover. all the things a first act delgada bass does not have. all t
yeah it appears the bass leaning against the cab is an rd artist. But apekillman no need to be a dildo about it. Zachoff may have been slightly impaired at the show and made a mistake. Either way both the first act and the rd are badass.
apekillman IS a dildo. He can be however he wants... hahaha.
awesome! Sorry apemankill I had no idea. You go places sunno will never see. HAHAHAHa.
In all seriousness just cause your a dildo doesn't mean you should slide on up in someones ass because they are wrong about something. This thread is about zachoffs badass new bass hes been waiting his whole life for. Maybe if the subject had been look at this bassist two first act basses and then that was the picture well then let the floggings begin but it was not the subject. Zachoff is just a wanna b gear whore. He doesnt really know what the fuck hes talking about. Obviously since the other bass is clearly an RD Artist or some first act replica from the 70's. Jesus now im a dildo. Fuck it.
Carry on.
Dildos.
DIIIIIIIILLLLDOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
dildo i may be. up in his ass about it? not even. i could have said "hey dumbass, look at the fucking bass leaning up against the cab. it most certainly isnt a first act." i was simply trying to dryly make sure that the bass he was referring to was indeed the one leaning on the cab. in which case it wasnt a first act. i don't even give a fuck about bass shit anyway. what the fuck!!!!! carry on fellas. don't mind me.
See, all good.
It's a First Act... I promise. It's the same bass that's in this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgdv5JVJhHY

heh.
Still, ya don't have to be such a zachoff about it to these dildoes... ;)
I got it back from my tech today. Man... In a word, awesome. Love it. My pics to come.
we may need to agree to disagree. i still am not convinced that the bass in that video he is playing is a first act. can i be 100% sure? no. do i really give a 100% of a fuck? no. sorry to derail your original thread. enjoy the new bass.
Post more, apekillman. We need more traffic. Tell everyone at the Player's Club at the Obelisk to come over there... that place is kind of a graveyard, and I can't help everyone over there :( :(
WE JUST WANNA BE LOVED IN THE JAM ROOOOOM
i really only lurk in the jam room. general discussion is pretty lame. it was that way for a loooooooong time before the original site died. thats why i wasn't really that upset when it did die. i am happy the jam room is back though. thanks for modding it sunn.
Just trying to help 'err one out! ;D
That's a beauty alright zachoff, my back aches just looking at it.
Glad someone posted on the Obelisk about this forum, didn't know it existed. I like the Obelisk as a blog, but I avoid Gen Discussion forums like the plague and their "players club" is a ghost town. I missed the Jam Room.
welcome home, Corey.
