Title: ESPN 30 for 30 thread
Post by: The Shocker on December 19, 2010, 10:56:38 AM
Resurrection of an old SR.com thread.  Just finished watching the one on SMU, which was really interesting.  I haven't seen all of them, but the ones I've seen were excellent.  May have to get the DVD box set with the 1st 15 on it.

I'm considering getting the box set as well. Any clue on how much it is going to cost?

I'm waiting to see what my local Walmart has it for (if they do).  The only one I've watched that I didn't care for is the Wayne Gretsky doc.  Kind of boring.

That and the Marcus Dupree one (The best there never was) were the best two I've seen yet.  I thought the Vlade one was surprisingly really deep emotionally.

I also found the CMU asshole boosters name (Sherwood Blunt) to be fucking hilarious.

Anyone else watch the 30 for 30 about the Lakers and Celtics? Being a die-hard Philadelphia fan you're expected to hate both teams, but this was great to watch. I liked how it was 2 narrators, and seeing the footage of 60's and 70's was incredible since I was either not alive yet or not old enough to appreciate them at that time. I grew up watching the rivalry during 80's. Seriously, how fucking awesome was it to watch Magic and Bird? Anyway, if you haven't seen it yet definitely seek it out.

Who cares about Mike and the Mad Dog, 90's schlock sports talk radio. Only reason they're resurrecting these two mummified corpses is to gloss over the 90's Yankees Dynasty and Reggie Miller destroying the Knicks. Who cares.
