Title: Tape Op - the Creative Recording Magazine
Post by: Lumpy on January 13, 2011, 12:30:24 AM
Just in case anybody doesn't know about this **free** magazine that talks about home recording, studio gear, recording software and plug ins, studio tips, interviews with producers and engineers, etc. The November/December issue has Devo in the studio (too short article), an inteview with old-timer Bob Johnston (recorded Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash, and Simon & Garfunkle classic albums - he has a bunch of good stories) and an interview with the guys behind the Reaper recording software. A few issues ago, they had an interview with a guy who recorded a few Lynyrd Skynyrd albums, who had some good anecdotes. I don't usually understand about half of the technical jabber, but I try to read the whole thing anyway.

Did I mention that subscriptions are FREE?

Yeah Tape Op is awesome. Probably the only magazine I read from cover to cover.
