Title: One amp, one cab, one bass/guitar, one pedal...
Post by: zachoff on October 03, 2012, 02:16:08 AM
One bourbon, one scotch, one beer...  And other stuff.

Pedal can't be a tuner.  Otherwise, what would it be?

Ampeg SVT, Ampeg 810, 70s Yamaha BB-1000, and a B:Assmaster.

Matamp GT200, 215 or 810, Ric or T-40 & fuzz. Maybe some kind of wicked combo fuzz?

Pretty much my setup now.

Garnet BTO
Ampeg 610
Music Man Stingray
Rotovibe

The head could be substituted with specific others. Traynor YBA-3 Custom Special, Matamp GTO. Anything in the 120-160 watt tube range in the style of British EL-34 based amps.

Now, is this like a dream rig, or something you have/have had?

If it is something I have, it would be: Peavey VTM60, Randall 2x15, custom/diy 9 string and Vintage rat w/ LM308.

If it is a dream rig, well then, it would be an Orange OR120, Orange 4x12, that fuzz pedal that is the musket and the fix'd together, and a First act 9 string.

Amp: Beta Lead
Cab: a 2X15
Guitar: Ampeg Dan Armstrong
Bass: Fender P
Pedal: 90's RAT II

Thats all stuff I already have, I'd try a V4 instead though.

Same for me, except a Fender Precision bass.

dont think 1 amp or cab or pedal will ever satisfy but most likely some well made Gibson Les Paul will fit the guitar part. Im too fickle with tone to come down to just one amp cab or pedal

Yeah a Paul is definitely the constant. Along with that, I'd go:

Hiwatt DR103 (or a clone thereof)
Orange 4x12 with V30's/g12h30's
And a combo BAT pharaoh/boost

From stuff I have:
My bare knuckle AlNiCo Warpig loaded gothic V (I still haven't totally bonded with the electrical v yet), Electric non-master head into EV loaded Matamp 4x12 and the pedal would be the footswitch to my Echoplex.

For stuff I don't have:
'59 Les Paul, Trainwreck Express into 20-watt greenback loaded tall basket weave Marshall 6x10 and an Echoplex here as well.

Ampeg SS150(B channel), any 4x12 that can handle lots of power and lows and not distort, bare bones black Les Paul with Duncan Invader pups(although my back doesn't like the weight), and an Amptweaker TightMetal.

I have this more or less for metal. The LP is an Epi Studio which is the cheapest set neck carved top they make. The Ampeg is super tight but warm and has body shaking low end for days although it's in the shop at the moment.

I'd probably go solid state and want some kind of sunn concert or coliseum head for long term use. A good 8x10 would probably be best for guitar and bass, I'm not too picky as long as it works well with the head. My SG special as it is and an old non reverse thunderbird bass. one pedal is tough to choose. either the deluxe memory man, tonebender mk2, or my big muff.

That's a nice setup, but are you just saying that because your rig's in the same room with you? Be honest  ;)

Hmm.. ok. Honestly, I should've said "a good delay pedal with foot controllable delay time and level". The other things are still true though. Guitar I always wanted = old original Guild S100. Got it. Any amp I could have? A loud-when-I-want-it-to-be, handbuilt, tube Matamp in a not-very-common color, with my name on it, with matching cab. Got it. So, yeah. Mostly what I've got. That Ardx20 is fucking sweet though.

I'm hoping the Crybaby will add a "perceived mojo effect" since The Great Fatsby wasn't a wah guy...
