Title: Fury of the Demon
Post by: Dylan Thomas on July 29, 2020, 07:42:20 PM
Anyone seen this short documentary about a mysterious silent film of the same name?

Intriguing.  Supposedly this French silent film caused violence, riots, fires, death and general insanity every time that it's screened, and then the film itself disappears.

Anyone seen it?  Thoughts?

I haven't seen it (and never heard of it) but people used to faint, panic etc, at the early film screenings. They were having their minds blown.

This movie has supposedly only been shown three times - once in 1897, once in 1938, and once in 2012.  According to the people who were supposedly at the 2012 screening, people lost it and got violent, resulting in the police being called and the arrest of the host of the private screening.

Yes, they mention this in the documentary, that the movie has "disappeared" after each viewing.

Has anyone watched the documentary yet?  I thought that it was fun, and a few of my friends have viewed it.
