I know a guy that started growing hops about 12 years ago in Maryland.  I think he stopped, but I'm not sure why.  Seems like a dead lock for success since they grow in so many environments, they grow vertically so you maximize acreage, and every brewery out there needs them.

I was at a Seattle brewery getting my growlers refilled and there's a truck parked right there at the dock full of fresh hops, that had left the farm/Yakima area that morning. I almost fell over from the thick dank that permeated the air. It almost made my eyes water from the heavy duty smell. It might be worth it to ask a brewery when their next load is coming in, just to catch a whiff.

Slow works great, medium is intermittent, fast doesn't work at all. I really need to open it up and give it a good cleaning. Nothing that can't be repaired. I've got the schematic and some guy shots saved on my desktop when I decide to dig in.

Got this a while back, for waaaaaaay less than it was worth at a garage sale, I informed them as to it's current market price. They sold it to me for what they were asking.
