Ruff mics, EV pl10

Hey, so my band's on the prowl for some good "diamond in the ruff" mics at under $200 for recording, so if anyone has any great finds/experience to aid in this quest, that'd be killer, especially in the way of getting a good, phat kick sound that's also friendly to blasts.

I figure for the vocal mic, we'll have to spend right up under the 200 limit, currently eying the AKG P420 (since we're pretty wary of getting any mic for over 100 at a pawn shop.)

So more particularly, I ran across this ev pl10 mic at a local pawn shop. It's priced at 129 and I can probably talk them down to 100, if I decide it'll serve us better than just grabbing an sm57.

I've looked all over for info on them, but it's kind of an oddball as the others in the pl series are mostly re-issues of the RE series, but not this one. From the spec sheet I can tell it would at least be nice for toms, but I'm not sure we've got the funds to drop 100 just on recording that section of the kit.

[The Riffer]

I love this mic. Bought it on a whim about 4 or 5 years ago. Although I have not used  close up on drums, but for every other application from vox to room to guitar and bass cabs, Ive had great results. Even against much higher dollar mics. Rich sound, and not overly detailed. Has a warm analog type quality. Alot of bang for the buck.
