Yeah, they're good bits of kit. As usual with Nintendo stuff it's the software that sets them apart. Mario Kart is great fun and the best version in years. Lots of good accessible games.

Oh and just be aware that the gamepad has limited range. It is a great idea for off-TV play but you do have to be in the same room as the Wii U base unit.

Weeks late... Yeah, whatever. I got the Wii U on sale. The games are awesome. I have the 2-D mario game + the Luigi expansion thingy, Super Mario 3-D World, and Mario Kart 8. All awesome games. Play MK with the wife occasionally and somehow she always ends up beating me. Also if you are a cat fag like me Mario 3-D World is right up your loose alley. Anyway, yeah, range is way too short. Wish I could go up or downstairs with it to shit. Both right above/below room with the system. No dice. Other than that. It is cool.
