can it be done?? is it safe?? will people die in third world countries?? does it sound like shit?? or is it killer??

im thinking of slapping a set of acoustic bass strings on my fender j.

depends upon the string composition, but that is the whole game right there.
phosphor bronze has no iron/nickel/wtf the 3rd magnetic metal is in it's alloy
nice lowgrade stainless blend or nickel -ferrous blend of some sort would work fine
I will let you figure out nylon strings yourself.

goes back to that "try soldering a test piece of guitar string first, just to be safe" because they are made of all sorts of different alloys.
