Not sure how practical it is for most of us but there may be a few here could use one of these.  Pretty nifty.

I could use that. Some of my colleagues would wear that thing out.

what do you get when you cross a rolling spray paint line-maker with a zipper?

that thing looks pretty clever.

It'd be great if just the outside of the tape was sticky.

^ this. I can imagine any cables taped with it being immediately sticky/soon to be forever fuzzy/dirty.

Gaffer tape is pretty low tack. It's designed to not leave a sticky residue all over everything. I imagine that thing would be a huge time saver for live sound guys.

True, as compared to duct tape, but anything it does leave behind is a BITCH to remove.

It's all a trade-off, really. Masking tape isn't strong enough, Gaffer tape's too strong & duct tape's too gooey.

Many of the major corporate A/V companies use black duct tape instead of true gaff. It's a few dollars less per roll, when you buy it buy the pallet full that adds up. I've worked for most of them. It doesn't gum stuff up as bad as you'd think. so long as you pull it up right and don't leave it long or in the hot sun.
