Saw Immortals last night.

Bearing in mind I'm a sucker for mythology, fantasy, swords and sorcery stuff I still thought it was absolute tripe.
A mess. Fucking hopeless.

No stars. Only a couple of fight scenes involving some of the Gods were worthy. Maybe 3 minutes in all.
A good cast but a tedious, disjointed and predictable script. AVOID!

John C. Reilly is a Vice Principal and he takes terri(the fat, lonely kid) under his wing. Creed is Terri's guardian and uncle who is crazy and loves taking his meds. Good movie and definitely worth the rent.

The two main characters are Mad Max fans, so to speak, but the movie is more about love gone wrong by betrayal more than anything else. Great movie, though.

Never seen Lolita even though I'm a huge Kubrick fan.  Maybe I need to Netflix it.

I was lucky enough to be gifted a Kubrick box set a couple years ago. All pedo b.s. aside, I think you'd dig the film.

I am more a fan of later period Kubrick, but I'll definitely check Lolita out.

I saw "Red State" about a month or so back, and I really enjoyed it. It's a movie that doesn't go where you think it might, ultimately. That said, the ending is a little unsatisfying and rings hollow in places, but is acceptable, though. Good movie for Kevin Smith.

Belgian movie, has English subtitles. Netflix calls this a 'pitch-black comedy' when (IMO) there's only a couple of laughs in it. Pretty dark and violent. Kind of a mess, but they get a lot of things right. Recommended.

I got Hanna and Fast 5 from netflix the other day. Their selections have been lack luster for some time, but I haven't been too interested in the movies coming out anyways. Fast 5 was watchable but dumb. I have never been a fan of the series. Could have driven a souped-up ricer through the holes in the plot line.

Hanna was more of a surprise; I don't like action movies too much but the story kinda grabbed me. I didn't even want to see the movie but I'm pleased that I have now.

I heard Red State was a steaming pile.  From someone I really trust, too.

Watched Hanna.  Liked it but there sure was a lot of runNing (said in a Forrest Gump voice).
