Instant Dan

Much better than the first. Not as bad of camera shake/static.

First story: 7.5/10. Great ghost story. Nothing original but gets you in the mood

Second story: 8/10. A nice twist on the zombie genre.

Third story: 9.5/10. This should have been a full length feature film. It only didn't get a 10/10 because the last two/three minutes should have been cut.

Fourth Story: 8/10. Great campy story. The ending with the dog made me :'(.

The Shocker

I thought the first one was decent, will definitely check this one out.

Been watching the classics with my 13 year old nephew:

So far:
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
The Road Warrior
Dawn Of The Dead

I was really looking forward to watching both these movies, but by the time I got 3/4's a way thru both I just wanted them to end. The last 1/4 of both I really didn't care and wanted everyone to just die.

mama was fucking stupid.

It was dumb. They played on me and tons of other Pan's Labyrinth fans, but Guillermo del Toro is knee deep in Hollywood muck these days.

I saw this Saturday. The only reason I watched it was because of David Cross.

Dark Skies.  A couple good scares going in but not a great movie (how do you really fight basically invisible aliens that are coming to abduct you?)  But Keri Russell and her small pointy boobs under a tight shirt are featured in a couple night scenes.

That'll be worth it to watch on that alone.

"This is the End"

Hilarious!

I read the reviews afterwards and I noticed some of them give away too much of the plot points and some of the jokes so I was advise against reading them (aside from the headlines). Its very raunchy and very funny. A little bit on the sloppy side but that's ok. I had some hard laughs.

Good. Kind of a bromance. Worth watching.
Rock & Roll is background music for teenagers to fuck to.

Snitch - This was actually pretty good

Apparently I only see movies with The Rock now.

The Shocker

Watched Goon last night.  Kind of slight, but enjoyable.

V.H.S     7/10

V.H.S 2   8/10

Watched em both back-to-back last night and wasn't expecting to enjoy them as much as I did. We need more horror anthologies out there.

I liked it in that a) Jessica Chastain was hot and ambivalent about being a mom b) several big scares (crawling wigs n' stuff) and c) the girls were good and creepy.

But they kinda ruined a lot of it with overexplanation and digging into the past and ultimately, humanizing Mama.  Still, the FX were good, I liked the whole drifty, smoky, swirling black dress aesthetic.

Oh and also, the actor playing the shrink looked too much like Tony Shaloub.  It was distracting.

I liked it alot, but they should have ended it before that terrible terrible song.

I'd give it a 5/10.

Fantastic FX but even those get wearying after a while.  The big problem is that Clark's story is told in flashback so it's hard to center the movie around him and his emotional journey the whole way through.  He's also kind of a cipher as a grownup, very terse and serious and then at the very end sprouts into the Christopher Reeve type Superman ("I know you wanna know where I hang my cape.")

Goyer should take lessons from JJ about how to deal with a mythology (hint: very light touch).  His dialogue esp. at the beginning was stilted and comic book-y.  There is precious little humor in MoS except for a good gag with a jammed printer.  The whole thing with the ship from Krypton buried in the snow for 2000 years was confusing.  Does each of those "outpost probes" come with a fully functional Superman suit?

I also felt a little bad for Meloni who got to say things like, "It worked!" and "Now I'm gonna drop the bomb!"

Just wish there was more of the Rock beating the fuck out of people in it, but it was a decent film.

Basically, it's about this guy who loses his dog and then sets out on a search to find him. While looking for his dog he encounters a lot of strange characters which throws him off track on his quest to find his dog Paul. Funny at times, but the pizza girl was fucking annoying.

This Is The End is good.  7/10.  Very funny, meanders some, doesn't amount to much except a bunch of big laughs and the usual Seth Rogen / Jonah Hill hijinks.  Big tall monster at the end is neat looking.  And I liked the final song/ joke.  Kinda reminds you why that song was big.  Always funny to see stars dancing.

The Bandit

So Bolt, what movies are a 10/10 in your eyes?  If it's too many, maybe a top 10, top 5?
