Our waffle iron, which was under powered for my purposes, has become weak and ineffective.  I need to go out there in the world and buy yet another goddamned disappointing bullshit safe waffle iron.

They don’t even blow fuses.

For dinner I made the food we just got -  cabbage, carrots, with grilled corn and asparagus.

The carmelized cabbage didn’t have my full attention so it was more soupy buy still good. I added prunes and dates.

you should get a an antique caveman cast iron waffle iron that works on the stovetop.  Get it off ebay and don’t go out in the world.

This one is 100 years old.

“COOKS 3.5" WAFFLES”

I was gonna buy the one like it for 19.99, then I read the fine print.

Then I read the large print, heh.

No that is the Bon Appétit picture. Mine was soupy because it had to do its thing unattended cause I was cleaning the garage and woodworking.

To fight the virus.

‘Salad spice’ seems more like an imaginary Pittsburgh food than an imaginary California food.

Do you think team hotdogs has a big shaker of something from the dollar store labeled ‘salad spice’ because I do.

I do not have any. The only spice I put on a salad is pepper, fool.

Are you talking aboot salad seasoning like for making "pasta salad" or something like that? I know the ex wife usually had some of that. Being that I am a pathetic divorcee that lives like a college kid I actually only have like 5 spices other than salt and pepper. Probably garlic salt/powder, cumin, chili powder, hmm, that might be it.

I have a lot of spices. Sometimes they get all mixed up and not always labeled. I haven’t totally fucked up a recipe yet but the thyme is cumin.

I despise the seeds afaik but was at the store and saw the ground cumin, eh, okay. Hey not bad! Sprinkled it on cottage cheese a side for my chicken sandwich - tasty. Imma brine some chicken breasts tonite - does cumin go on that too?

Ah, got it. I'm no good at making those. Well, I can make fake the tacos, sort of. Wait, I did buy some ground beef, very rare for me to buy the stuff, but I had hamburger.on.brain. I'll try for ground beef tacos, with cumin.

I prefer whole seeds. Toast them in a pan and grind with mortar and pestle. I add them to Thai curry amongst other things. On lamb is divine. In chili. Just a touch n guac. Indian curry of course.
