Are those yours? The one on a formica dinette set?

I've been hitting the ballparks on a cast iron skillet, on Dark Rye toasted a little, nice layer of saurkraut, beads of yellow mustard. Sneak some habanero drizzle in there - hot tip.

pics pending

That DiRusso Sausage is top notch. Not much fat at all.

took me a few tries to figure out a good way to cook them because of the low fat (~20% my guess) content.

Boiling them in beer and grilling/broiling them doesn't work to well.

But cooking them in a frying pan or griddle on low heat and they turn out fantastic.

I baked the DiRusso to ensure max flavor stayed in the casing and then put them in sauce the next day and added peppers and onions.

I usually make enough extra fun stuff that if a person that didn't want a brat or was a Muslim or observant Jew or out-of-touch-factless-Vegan they could still have a wonderful roasted vegetable sandwich.

The fools. It's not as good!

Usually you have like beans and coleslaw and pickles too.

With all the Germans and Pollacks running the city - Milwaukee sure was the land of sausage. Brats and kielbasa and so on. Lots of sauerkraut and pickled things.  We didn't have hotdogs and all those rules about ketchup. That's Chicago.  I never had an Italian sausage on a bun until I moved here.

Italian sausage is good as fuck, but the rest of your post sounds wonderful, including the roasted vegetable sandwich.  I Should try this "Milwaukee".

My game now is all about the HOTLINK. I'll wrap it in foil and bake it in the oven so it plumps up/quasi steams it. I'm off to the store now! Also wrap buns in foil for warm buns delight. Saurkrat, good, but not necessary all the time. Beads of yellow mustard good for pop!

Milwaukee had pepperoni pizza but not Italian sausage pizza, like Chicago has, because Italians were not welcome. The Germans didn't want to let in two kinds of Catholics, just the Poles. It's cold there.

A hot link would be a soul food item here. Like from Hecky's.   I like the texture- it's very crispy and burnt

Thanks! I usually take pictures of food because I am bored and a former food television junkie

...(until they went all game shows all the time on Food Network, I don’t get the other food channel that was a spin-off, but I’m going through old Kitchen Nightmares on Roku) ...

enjoy making plates and sometimes even making food food from scratch as much as I can. I like presentation and color contrast.

It’s how you test a joint.

And I’m the guy who’ll eat gas station hot dogs because they’re good.
