You can make all the quick breads still without yeast - like zucchini and walnut and whatever you have.  They are more for breakfast and dessert than making a sandwich

Tortillas?  Need baking powder I think. Not sure if that’s in high demand.

Your neighbor shouldn’t be feeding the deer.

Bread the thread!

I just put up a shallot, garlic olive oil soda bread to bake. On another note I made strawberry and  mango pectin-less jam. Updates soon.

Right now it is easier to buy weed than it is to buy baker's yeast. I am not making matzos, damnit! What else you got for unleavened breads?

Weed brownies, duh.

This recipe is very productive for the effort involved, you get a bunch of dough going and then can make bread whenever

Ah ha, this is the Dutch oven recipe that worked better than the NYT one

Thanks.

We made like 5 gallons of soup. 5 kinds of beans, carrots, onions, veg stock, rice, quinoa, salt, pepper, various herbs, some egg pasta, something I’m forgetting...

Shit is phenomenal.

Some rustic homemade bread would knock it out of the park!

I like that JennyCanCook recipe for the sparse amount of yeast it uses in these yeast lean times.  Might try that one.

It’s a great recipe with not much work.  You can do the overnight version if you use cold water. I liked the three hour rise warm water results better, I think I did about 5-6 hours.

Making banana bread, per request by child.   These quick breads are nice for breakfast.

Don't believe Shaft—he hasn't got any children left—just more adults to boss him around.

I was thinking about that... should add frozen blueberries to my Instacart.  Delivery is a week out. Yesterday it was two weeks out. Huh.

We’ll see if it ever comes.

Found more yeast today.  I had a choice between the jar or the packets. Got the jar.

Actually the g-store was quite well stocked.  Except paper.

No shortage of bread.  Irony.

I was thinking of asking Great Harvest for some yeast.  I got a cigar box at the liquor store ‘because I’m a good customer’.

Okay, I am not going inside any stores for one week. Starting now.

I don't see why that wouldn't work, I believe I read about somebody making bechamel out of starter. Probably want to thin it out some

Gravy is butter fat plus flour

Starter is dough

The fuck?  Why don’t you make a fucking bicycle out of it next.
