That sure looks short, anyone know what scale it is or anything about that model?

Hey, I saw that auction too... It doesn't say Teisco anywhere on the guitar, as far as I can see. I guess a lot of other brands were made at the factory where they made Teiscos (?)

Body shape looks a little bit like a Firstman to me (another Japanese brand. I have one of their basses). I've never seen a Teisco with that shape before (not an expert on Japanese guitars or anything though).

If you're in Missouri, aren't there any scores at the pawn shops or garage sales? I would think that Ebay (a great equalizer) would be less-desirable for shopping, than looking for local scores. In the big cities, a good local deal is like finding a needle in a haystack.

I count 22 frets, with only the first 12-15 easy to access... if its not technically a short scale, it might as well be.

I'm in Mississippi.   I used to hit the Pawns, but it was always crappy strat copies.  And you're right, I've never seen a Tiesco that looked like that.

Here's some info I found, which I used for an Ebay search (I don't have the original source link, but it sounds correct)

Teisco manufactured tons of different guitars and they were imported to the U.S. and then given new names like: kent, decca, silvertone, danelectro, noble, kay, audition, harmony, lyle, aria, guyatone, winston, apollo, kingston, global, conrad, airline, univox, heit, magnum, telestar, kimberly, checkmate, greco, norma, alamo, crestwood, sorrento, lafyette, cameo, sevoka, kawai, lindell sears & roebuck

Teisco is pretty well-known now, so maybe try looking for a Conrad, Kimberly, Noble or Lyle (I've never even heard of those).

edit:  Different necks/headstocks though.  The Kawai looks more deluxe, maybe the Teisco was the downmarket brand.

Now that I think of it, that info on the Teisco brands (rebranding I guess) might have come from My Rare Guitars.

Pure speculation, but no branding would help when exporting and selling as multiple brands.  Definitely doesn't help with internet searches 40 years later though.
