One of the best tones outta the 60s/70s. And a big part of it was an accident. Sunn sent him a Coliseum PA head instead of a guitar head. Of course, there the LP Jr., the super-wide vibrato, and the pinch harmonics didn't hurt.

indeed. every inteview i've ever read from him is very classy. he seems super humbled by the fact that they are famous and people still hold one of his songs up as a defining sound for a genre.

i dare say that "mississippi queen" is the "paranoid" of the US?

Also, West barely ever goes outta the blues scale (root position), and frets mostly with 2 fingers. He does so much with the most basic ingredients.

Oh man that's a bummer as a fellow Diabetic I was aware that Leslie had been a type II diabetic but he had lost weight and I thought he had it under control, I guess it's never really out of the picture just lurking beneath the surface.

I've very saddened for him.

He has been a huge influence too me.
