#402
my band can only practice on weekends sporadically, so I am looking to start a weekday band...  *sigh*

Pure Rock Casey

We finally got around to putting out some new tunes. we were hoping to do a full length but completely ran out of time after 4 songs. (we did lay down drum tracks for a couple more though so hopefully can get round to finishing those off later this year)

And if anyone is in Germany over the next month, we're heading over to trade riffs for beer so keep an eye out

that riff fist sounds massive  :o :o :o

agent of change

Just played a good show after coming out of winter writing hibernation. Rocked 3 new songs and they got good feedback. Hoping to save up some money from gigging this summer and record our new material.
We didn't come here for economic politics or religious bickering, we came to rock.

About to start hitting up friends again to get opening slots for Ocean of Stars.

We need to play shows with actual bands rather than whatever random hodgepodge the venue has thrown together.

Hoping they will be more receptive to it. The lack of progress in this area (me talking to clubs) is driving me to fucking distraction. But I need to remember that we don't have a physical CD yet, but hopefully will be remedying that end of this month.

everyone's jacked up schedule in my band means we wont get to practice this weekend either.  We have not practiced in two weeks.

I put up ads for musicians that can practice on weekdays but does not seem to be any interest.  I will put up some more ads.  I am thinking of stopping renting that practice room once this month is over and going back into my apartment 'woodshed' and working heavily on my personal abilities.  Ill make that decision after this weekend, maybe Ill rent it for one more month and work on my drumming and singing more.  I have been renting that practice studio for 4 months and it has been a dud so far really...I mean folks cant seem to make time to practice.  so I better work on my own stuff.

Danny G

I'd suggest maybe do hourly rooms but if people are going to flake on you...

Shit. Ocean of Stars just got a gig offer for end of the month but bassist will be out of state.

Not end of the world, same night is Tia Carerra and Amplified Heat at Lost Well. Which I was planning on attending to hit up both bands about gigs and talk to the booking agent there

Tia is awesome!  I dig their albums. they have been around Austin a long time.  I wanted to see amplified heat as well, sigh

ya this original heavy rock band idea I had is a real bust, I am gonna go back into the woodshed and save up some money that way prolly; let someone else herd the catz

Danny G

Amp Heat has been making a booking push as of late, you'll have a chance to see them. And yeah you need to see both!

Yes. Cat herding. I'm so glad the cats I have are very ok with the herding haha. Especially with the weird shit that we play I'm happy to have people who are into it

Mass Driver is currently recoding our new album. It's already sounding a hell of a lot bigger than our previous stuff. I'll be sure to post some stuff here once it's finished

having uninspired band practices and watching other bands put in 100% more effort, working as a team and achieving results. knowing I'm just as to blame but my get up and go has got and went. cry me a river!

We are gearing up for our CD release party next weekend, the official release date for our new album is Tuesday 4/21, and we are working on writing a lot of new material.  Things are going well, just very busy.

If you want to check out our new album, you can stream or purchase a download from the Bandcamp.  We are putting CD's up for order on 4/20, we'll ship them 4/21....

The fact that I kept setting my own boats on fire was considered charming.

I don't think I've mentioned my band around here before, but we just finished our record and it's free on Bandcamp right now.

The goal was to really push the band into the fringes of heavy music with absurd tempos, tuning, song length, and an over the top live presentation. I'm expecting that only a fairly small percentage of people are going to actually dig it, but the hope is that the few who might, will like it a lot.

Feel free to give it a listen. It's really pretty goddamned heavy.
