Yesterday we got a new practice space share with Disco Rice's band (Lead Breath). Drywall dust and electronics = no bueno. Found out about the space on Sunday, moved in on Monday. I'm spontaneous like that. ;)

Yeah man, that all went very smoothly. Kind of weird, actually. (*knocks wood)
Somebody's gonna eat my pussy or I'm gonna cut your fucking throat.

In an attempt to keep my sanity in college, the solo project has had some life put into it. I bought a bass even, so I could fill everything out myself.

Printmaking this semester shall yield album and tshirt art, and my job at the radio station = full mixing console at my disposal. I'm getting my money out of this semester, for sure.

All in all, very happy with how it's coming. I may have ruined myself on working with other musicians because I get everything exactly how I want it.

Hello strangers. I've popped in recently to lurk and found that many old characters are still kicking about here? I think I even laughed, well, smirked I suppose.

Well, Thorun finally recorded its third CD, 36 mins of the same old shit. not as fully flowing as the last one, but it has its moments.

We've replaced a guitarist that left and the newest two tunes we've written with him are more straight riff jobs with less fucking about.

We get a cheer when we play.

also started another band with friends that play in other bands, so we're like a Supergroup basically. It's called Lacertilia, but dont tell the mexican band of the same name, hopefully they'll have split up by the time we get in the charts, which should be around 2106.

my old grindcore/noisecore band 'Hades Mining Co.' got rebooted last summer after a long period of inactivity due to not having a consistant drummer. we now have a drummer and are playing shows and cranking out releases. so far a split cassette and 2 split 7"ers have come out and we are sold out of our first 7" that came out in 2002 [about the fuck time]. we have a few more splits in the works as well as a track on an upcoming comp 7".
split 7" with CSMD [crowd surfers must die] from the netherlands on 'no fucking labels' and a split 7" with adolf shitter from france on 'underground pollution records' due out late 2014/early2015.

do yourself a favor and check out CSMD. one of my personal all time fav bands in the world. im guessing adolf shitter might be too much for most of you to handle around here.  ::)

Show on May 28, and maybe something in early July.

Talked to my no-good guitar player, and he's gonna play some shows again. He's sobered up!

I built a very cool little recording studio.  Finishing up a "Frankenstrat" project guitar this week.  I start recording seriously after I get off the next tour (as a sound engineer, not a guitar player).  The project is a equal parts trippy/heavy.  I could use a bassist if you live in CT.  I also need a band name.  Any ideas?
I'll start posting some clips in July.

My band has been defunct for 2 years now I think. I've had a couple offers which I've declined.  Doing weirdo synth shit currently. Have barely touched a guitar in a month. Prolly wont do weirdo synth shit live as I'd feel silly cuz I spent the last 25 years with a guitar or drum sticks in hand and can't shake that that is actually playing music and not just twirling knobz.

playing 1 to 3 local shows a month...bars and house shows. not many heavy bands happening around here lately and people contact us to play so that's always nice. don't know if I'll ever do anything with the stuff we have recorded other than occasionally dicking around with a mix or whatever. haven't practiced in weeks, but we need to get some of our new stuff down so we can play it live. kinda wish we could do a show with no time constraints so we could experiment more. even 45 minutes is not enough to really get into some serious dronin' and zonin'

Getting our new rehearsal room ready.

mutantcolors

Killer looking studio, what's the finish on the walls? Just painted gyp board?

liquidsmoke

Demo is done, going on bandcamp this week, blank CDRs and tapes have been ordered, inserts and jcard layouts are basically done, trying to plan a gig for June or July, practicing another new song to debut live.

everdrone

cant disagree with that rehearsal room, killer!!!

RAGER

You knwo what would make that jamroom look way killer?  A pic of you guys wearing sleeveless vests.

Just played the 2nd show with new-ish band (new drummer, new band name).  Pretty happy with how it's going.  Trying to get some Seattle/Portland shows set up in the next few months.

p.s.    Aren't all vests, by definition, sleeveless?

Some have ass, they are called pants.

Just finished a demo, recorded live in a room. 6 songs, an hour of sludge/doom/stoner/etc. Gearing up for a cd release party. Googled "cd sleeve origami" and found some cool folds. Ours opens up from the center like a flower. We changed our band name to Radiant Beings of Light and in between songs we've been doing crowd interaction improv based on stuff like "release your anal chakra down into the red hot magma of the earth" and "we are here to worship YOU." I think I talked somewhere else in the jam room about how we're going to wear white and sparkles. These days naming your band Rotting Flesh doesn't really scare anybody, but we intend to make some people really nervous by offering them sensual reiki attunements.  :D

We didn't come here for economic politics or religious bickering, we came to rock.

I said once before that I think the whole Radiant Beings of Light concept is brilliant.
