I'm older than dirt - so I remember being able to buy retreads at the gas station.

Way. I think I used to sell 'em. I remeber we used to get bonus points for selling tires, I mean it was a big deal!

Nothing like the smell of fresh rubber.

Are retreads / used Legal ?

Oh yeah, but I think the tech has changed.

Baby only gets new, though. I ain't barreling down the interstate at 75 on used.

I seem to notice donut riders are terrible drivers.  The likelihood of a donut rider driving like an ass has got to be 70% or better.

It's like seeing somebody doing a terrible maneuver and noticing that their car is all bashed up from doing it before.

They still do retreads in the trucking industry.  They go like a million miles, put a new sole on that old show, and go like a million more.

About a year ago I was convinced the engine of my 91 240 might be on it's last legs. Didn't even get it smogged because I knew it couldn't pass.
After much wrenching I took it in today and it passed with flying colors. I was told "This car burns cleaner than cars half it's age. It's numbers are great, but I can't issue you a certificate because the check engine bulb is burnt out or disabled."

AHHHHHHH!!!!!!
