I thought it was OK, the whole "fetch my ax" thing was kinda dumb and drawn out, but other than that, I thought it was overall very grueling to watch.  Which means the writers and crew did a good job, if it can affect viewers to the degree that it did.
Kinda sad to see Abraham go, as he added much needed humor and Rambo-esque aggression to the series, but whatever.  The writers can always add another character when they want.

I thought they did a shit job. The only reason you were so affected was because they went full tilt graphic. Lazy and lame.

I cringed a couple of times, but it was so over the top needlessly violent, I kinda detached. Was lame. What's his name's scalp stuck to the barb wire?  We get it already. No limits!!!

All that seriously stupid monologing by what's his name is ridiculous. Over an hour of it if you put the two episodes together. Fuck that goofy shit.

There's nothing really that clever about pure shock value. It's the GG Allin of Television.

I guess I didn't think it was particularly graphic, or all that shocking.  I've seen much more graphic wise, for me it's usually an atmosphere thing.
What it did, for me anyways, was get me more invested in what Rick and the rest of the group was feeling, the sense of helplessness and despair.  At first I thought Rick would lose his hand, then that passed, and then I really thought Carl was going to lose his arm, and I was somewhat surprised when he didn't.  So I guess I was that invested in it(when I'm usually not), where I actually figured they would just keep going, keep piling on the misery,  maybe that's why I felt they succeeded. 
Not giving it an A rating, maybe a B or B+.  But I've not given any of the episodes an A rating, as my taste in zombie action runs more to the European genre.

I'm really starting to hate most of the characters on the show. I wish they wish just kill off Maggie already. She's useless.

Yeah I can only presume they will kill off characters in the upcoming war which seems like the only trick the show really has at this point.

People love the Negan character and I fucking hate him.  I hope they kill him with his bat which is clearly what will happen.

I'm ok with Maggie getting killed off now that she has that horrific haircut. The only thing that she had going for her was that she was hot and that's gone.  The Mexican chick is the hot one now.

That weird lean thing that Negan does every time he talks drives me crazy.
