There's not a single weak moment on this whole album, I just grabbed this one for the fact that the riff in question is starts at 0:00.

As soon as the bass slide hits, I want to start tearing infants in half:

Haven't heard this version, just the album version, but I bet it delivers. Riff hits around 2:30. Pure dissonant brilliance, total sonic weaponry.

Sonic Titan - Not the most brutal/destructive, bit I've always been leveled by the simple pentatonic riff at 2:00-2:40

Weakling 1- These opening riffs are vicious.

1:52 on this song is the best example of death metal, it's the fucking PINNACLE. Also, the be-all-end-all death metal riff, to me.

I will definitely second those - went to see DOWN 2 months ago and they played buried in smoke as their ENCORE and the crowd went crazy!  great tune

was outside a SLEEP concert in austin at Mowhawk and the amount of volume and bass from that was amazeballz

Couldn't agree more. I'm really interested in their amp set up... And pedals. I'm pretty sure last time I checked, they had a couple of Model Ts, some sunn cabs, the bass player had a Guild bass, the one  guitarist had an EGC or Travis Bean (can't remember) and the other one had a V.
