its an 18W chassis that Weber has that you would normally build a Marshall 18W out of but instead of that circuit I am building a half TrainWreck, half GT120 with a DC coupled cathodyne phase inverter. The controls are condensed down so that the EQs fit on 1 knob, dual 1M for a baxandall dual 250k for the Trainwreck (fixed mids), then I added shift control to the FMV on the Wreck, and the Master is PPIMV into 2 EL84s. No feedback

did i give you the idea for the 1 knob baxandall or was that another builder i was talking to about that?

but that sounds awesome. it would be even better if it was about 60 watts!

I believe I gave you the idea when the MOD 60W kit was being discussed on this forum. I mentioned we could use a concentric pot to do a 1 knob baxandall but this is not the first place I have heard of this idea. In this amp I merely made it simple with just a dual 1M but I included a switch to flip the operation of the treble control so you can get a bit more flexibility.

It certainly could be changed to a 60W platform, and with a bigger chassis possible no reason to do 1 knob controls

I spent a bunch of time making a Rat on perfboard this weekend, and it sounds like dogshit.  So disappointed.  I seem to have fucked up the Filter control - I did add an LED/diode switch, but I can't fathom how that would affect what's should be a simple RC lowpass filter. But then, as I'm keen to point out, I'm not an engineer. Bah.

I'll get out the audio probe this weekend.  Just thought I'd vent/clandestinely ask 'wtf.'

The diode switch shouldn't affect it at all. I'd say you have a bad connection or a bridged connection somewhere.

$40 each for the scope and the frequency generator. Both aren't in 100% working condition (functional, that is, but with issues,) so I'm happy for a "first timer."

I also picked up like 80 stereo jacks, 20 3pdt's, some 2399 chips, a bunch of caps, and a few Parallel Universe v1 boards. I'm in nerd gear heaven.

So, uh... trades soon.

When I did the step pictured, I was listening to Aretha Franklin and Betty Davis...Not so doom ....But at this moment, worth noting I am listening to The Dynasty rehearsals building a pedal that will go to Todd Youth, Ace's guitar player. The Dynasty Rehearsals is just what the Dr ordered. THX!

pharaoh made a guest appearance there through the Fog channel (GT120). Its got a bit of what you like in there. Stripped down controls of course, Gain, Tone Master.

I actually thought about your amp idea yesterday for some reason, many good ideas in that.
