I've already got a Marshall AVT-150 full stack for bigger gigs, but I'm looking to pick up a loud combo amp for smaller bar/club venues. I looked into Orange, and that seems like the way I want to go...anyone have any experience playing the Orange Thunder series th30 combo, tiny terror combo, or rockerverb combo? I'm looking for a Down/Pepper Keenan kinda tone, and sometime a little cleaner like Tim Sult from Clutch.
I have my heart set on Orange, as I've wanted an amp of theirs for years, but willing to consider other brands too...thanks!

I have a Vox AC50 combo that i use exclusively! I have had 2 Marshalls and 2 Oranges since buying the Vox but the Vox remains a constant. It has a high gain channel that sounds like a dirty  overdriven Marshall and the regular channel is basically an AC30 which cleans up really nice for those Tim Sult kind of riffs. These are not in production anymore but you get them from Ebay usually for around the $700-$800 mark. I bought looking for the same tones that you have described believe it or not!

I have a Red Bear "Cub 50" combo and a Laney AOR 30. Both are pretty good.

Pics of that Red Bear are required, that is a rare motherfucker you have, dude. I want those for my amp porn archive. As detailed as possible, I don't expect gutshots, but if you've got 'em, post 'em too.

is that the aor 30 one of the ones with the closed back speaker?

I had no idea it was rare. I picked it up to replace a Red Bear mk 120 that served me well in Automind but was too loud when I moved away from my hometown to go to gradschool.

The Laney has a partially closed back, with like a 4 inch wide strip open right behind the chassis:

How many Red Bear MK120's have you seen? Ok, How many of those combos have you seen? I've heard of the combos, but assumed they were a myth, I've seen many, MANY rare and hard to find amplifiers... but not this one. Great find...

I gots one of those AOR30's as well.  It's a closed back speaker with chassis access.  Not really my kind of amp, but i was looking for a 6v6 based amp and it fit the bill.  Lots of gain from those two pre-gain channels.
Vinyls.   deal.

I can't type it all out on my phone, but the new Orange stuff is shit.  It's a long story, and I'll tell it, if you want.  Lemme know.

I'm pretty sure we can decipher that they're Chinese made PCBs, soldered in Britain by a Malaysian, and shipped by Parcel Farce to stores all over Europe, then flown overseas to Guitar Centers and overpriced local shops everywhere.

About three years ago, I got a Rockerverb 50 combo, blew it up two times, had it replaced with a new one, and it blew two times, as well.  The last time being onstage at the last Emissions.  I mean dead.  The shop then gave me a new AD140, it blew up, so I took it in.  Picked it up on the way to the studio, where it proceeded to die.  Dead.  I talked to a tech at Orange on the last go-round, and he told me the tubes had gone bad from sitting on the showroom floor.  He seriously told me that.  I was just in that shop the other day, which is Austin's big Orange dealer, and my friend who works there told me they still have Orange shit coming in for repairs left and right.

This all took about a year.  It was so bad, the shop gave me full store credit.  Which I spent half of on an '81 JCM800, which fucking rules, and hasn't given me one single problem.

FUCK ORANGE.
