Parts of that thing would fall/break off pretty quick with actual use.

Wood. Wood is much better.

Oh yes.. of course.

Last time I was at Guitar Center they had a Fender 2x15 cab for like $200 or something, I'm going to have to snag it today if it's still there assuming it's not like 150 lbs or whatever. Prices on used cabs there can be unbelievably low. Of course that means they aren't paying people shit for them but it's good when you are buying.

edit: didn't have time to look before work today but I've reconsidered. I'm not buying a 2x15, too awkward and hard to lift alone. Two 1x15s or two 4x10s it is.

Man, I have so many responses to the craigslist ad I placed that I couldn't even get back to all of 'em this weekend.

Definitely a few interesting replies, but of course there are gonna be some serious flakes to sift through.

Like this guy:

"I could see us recording or even making Youtube videos, but why would you want to play in bars? That's just showing off."

I had not mentioned videos, but couldn't they be also be seen as kinda "showing off"?

I was wondering if you wanted to start a Christian metal band? I'm a screamer.

I'm sorry; you'll have to get behind the guy with the electric ukulele who is "also an excellent whistler."

They had that Fender 'Bassman' 2x15 priced at $175 so I had to buy it. It's now in the basement. It's got wheels but stairs will be tricky/impossible alone. The price was so right though. Nobody wants big shit anymore, I wonder why?  :D

Might put some extra handles on the top and bottom.

I made a bunch of demo clips over the weekend for the Dunwich pedal tourbox and got them all uploaded last night. One set for guitar, two for bass (fingerstyle and pick), I made some playlists so people can check them all out easily. Detailed notes on the settings for each clip on the individual files.

haha, there'll be no need for this gentleman, the cab is 8 ohms and the top speaker wasn't working today. Taking it back. Not even sure it would fit in my car with my 2x12s and other gear anyway. Will try to get two identical used 8 ohm 4x10s for cheap for maximum volume with my 350 watt head. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm thinking if I can find one used locally I can probably find one used somewhere else and have it shipped. Want them to be the exact same units so there aren't phase problems or anything.

Untrue. I have a peavey delta blues with two tens and it sounds killer.

I've never considered a 2x10. Hrm. The fact that SunnJake hates them makes me consider them even more.

Picked up a 2x12 on ebay, which was cheaper than a 2x12 locally. Nuts. Helped a friend wire up his V with new Lace Wino's, sent some riffs around to he and a drummer, and started looking for a practice space. Soon my rockstar dreams will come true and I'll leave this dank, urine-soaked hellhole behind.

I think 2x10s are super cool and they make my weenie twitch.

I assume you mean bass 10s right? I'll be down to at least F#, hopefully E and running that side through a SansAmp Bass Driver into a bass head so I want it to sound like a bass.

It's either two 4x10s, two 2x12s, or two 1x15s and my understanding is that one can generally get the most volume out of two 4x10s. I'm hoping my little 350 watt SS Fender Rumble head will be loud enough at 4 ohms into 2 cabs to um hang with my guitar rig. Trying to do this cheap but it's also kind of how much Beast In the Field/Jucifer can I fit in my Vibe.

Folks seem to like those new Acoustic B410 cabs. GC has some used ones for $100 at stores. Any of you folks have any experience with them?
