Mostly setting up/getting levels yesterday in the studio, but did manage to cut one guitar track.

Everything lies in readiness for the long split session today.

The eventual goal is getting 5 originals & 2 covers recorded & mixed, so I'm hoping to get a lot closer to that by the end of the day.

Somebody please tell me these are crap.. I want to order 4 of them. 15x29.5x13 isn't huge but it isn't tiny. Assuming standard speaker prices, loaded Avatars are still about $100 more although their dimensions are 21x28.5x12. Tolex is an extra $30 but black carpet doesn't bother me.

Everyone on ILF Doom sub forum is all over your ad Jake, hopefully someone actually pulls the trigger. I would throw my Beta Bass head up for sale here, but I'm already holding it for a Talkbass/FB friend. If that falls through for some reason I might list it on here though.

It looks like it's made out of semi-decent plywood, not boogerboard at least, and it's got some internal bracing. Personally I hate ratfur on cabs, but it's not a bad price for a new unloaded 2x12 cab shipped. Looks like they've got tolex ones for about $30 more. Better prices than Avatar, dunno how the quality compares. They might be the same cabs for all I know, I'm pretty sure Avatar subs all that stuff out.

Retracked a few solos for Ocean of Stars demo EP using the Lead 12 at home. The existing ones using my stage rig weren't cutting through the over all mix very well. 

Much improved.

The removable back panels are an extra $16 which would probably be necessary for rear mounting of the speakers. I'd prefer 16 or 17" high but for the price I think I could live with 15. The advantage with Avatar is if you want them loaded you get a crazy good price per speaker because they buy in extreme bulk. I found a few other cheap plywood cab companies-

the symmetry appeals to my twisted mind.  I was contemplating this idea to replace an ampeg bass fridge too.

do you look on craigslist for high school kids getting rid of 12x2 sub boxes from their car stereos?

fwiw, I play unplugged most of the time when I practice. the tele gets the coolest vibrations going and all kinds of overtones, sometimes louder than the primary note.
