shaft was going to do that..remember? some kinda stoner matinee venue "downtown" or something. I think it would be good for seniors. you could run a Sunday brunch with music after brunch. problem is most people would leave immediately after brunch to go watch football at the sports bar.

ps. I used to frequent a weekly Sunday midday jazz/groove/hip hop showcase. It was great.

RAGER

This show was 2011 I think. Fukn awesom. The Tube is now a hot girl dance club nowadays. It is tiny and it was such a blast to play and see shows at. It's just a few doors down from where Torche played their first show in Portland.

Sunday brunch show. Cheap champagne and eggs bennie. Awesomely tasteless flier and I do believe True Widow opened cuz I remember it being daylight and drunkenly talking guitars and tuning with that dude and Rob Wrong.

Maybe not. It says DR210.   The link at the bottom of this page said SA210.

Think maybe DR210 and SA210 are the same basically but a slight different layout. Built in two different eras by different ownership.

hiwatt is a great name. I had a Matchless (two types) not a good name but one heckuva an amp. The DC30 weighed a ton but golly wow.

I've always had my eyes on a Reeves. ps. there's is poop-all about hiwatt ownership changes on wiki. c'mon.

eeghads. I can't look https://www.hiwatt.org/

RAGER

HIWATT is such a convoluted story. Weird knockoffs, dodgy facts and other weird stuff. Some were made in China beer one ownership and sone brand new ones to date still are. Namely the solid state and hybrid shit. HIWATT in name only. Sorry my HIWATT doesn't have an aux. in or Bluetooth. Ffs. And sone were made in n California around 83-84.

Mine I think is a 2003 and made in Doncaster. That's been verified and it's listed on the HIWATT World Registry. Purists will say it's not a real HIWATT and that's ok. Maybe some day I will have a 70's DR103. But I love this little Custom 20 and is hand wired on a turret board just like the old ones. It's a work of art.

I've been trying to look at the tone stack in that schematic to determine why it would kill the signal at all pots zeroed.  I'm not getting it.  That might be just me.

Text I received yesterday

" Hey Rager, Vern @ Sweetwater here. It's been a bit since we've reached out and just wanted to check in and see how everything's going with you! Are there any projects that I can be helping with?"

So I was thinking of asking him to help me organize the garage, build a kayak hoist and maybe haul away the old water heater I still have in the garage.

A friend of mine inherited her friends property and assets. HAM/electronics nerd hoarder hermit. Ramshackle house in about 3 acres with money squirreled away in CD's and accounts. Quite the windfall for her which is good as she's over 70. Fun lady to hang out with. Anyways she took me over there yesterday to assess as there is a motor home and sone guitars and amps. It was suggested I might have my pick of sone things if the stepson didn't take it. Tried not to envision Marshalls, Laneys and HIWATTS. There was of course none of that. MG series Marshall junk and a couple other things. Junk guitars etc... but the house is full of electronics stuff. Grabbed a variac, nice Craftsman meter, Walker Wes-50 iron and one of those little toy HOTONE mini amps. The Purple Wind one.

There's some very cool 50's Gonset transmitter receivers and several oscilloscopes and partially built chassis and on and on. Then there's the shop. Oh man I would've been really excited 15 years ago but I just don't do that stuff anymore.

I'll probably get one more trip through or I might just help her get stuff out if she needs the help. Maybe I'll grab some tools idk. Weird. I used to get really stoked about stuff like this. Meh.

I could use some NOS JAN tubes in their original boxes. Just get the whole carton we I can go through them later. Also, a good 'scope to watch synth waveforms - 4-channel, or 2 channel. (make sure to get the probes). How about an arc-welder? I could use one of those.

RAGER

I did set aside a box that had some NOS  National 6CA7's made in England. But the other dude spied those and I didn't make a fuss. Meh.

And yes I'm sure there's a welder in the shop along with 4 riding mowers, several weed walkers, chop saw, generator, air compressors and a bunch f huge fricken transformers. Must be for the HAM antenna that's 40' tall. Shit that thing must be worth some dough.

Yeah, as the baby boomers start dying off, there's going to be a surplus of all types of collections getting the estate sale treatment.  Cool you had the opportunity to cherry pick, albeit sloppy seconds.  I need a new scope. Last time I tried to use mine, I didn't have much luck.
Vinyls.   deal.

Jammed with my neighbor who plays drums yesterday. He's way out of practice and sold his drums about a year ago. And they were electronic and mine are vintage Ludwigs. It was fun for a bit. Also he doesn't know "our" music.

But that's not a bad thing in my mind.  I could totally benefit from doing a top 40 gig.  I've been in a blues box rut for longer than I wasn't.

Should you decide to pursue further, it might surprise you how fun the riff to Beat It, or something can be.
Vinyls.   deal.

RAGER

Fuck that.

I've had this delusion of a three piece for so long it's just a dream. I had it once in real life kinda. It was great for a while but I felt I had to write "songs" with vocals and blah blah.

I really just wanna play some riffs with some drawn out solos where the drummer and bass player just shrug at each other and are down.

Drummer the other day never raised his sticks above his head. Iykyk.

you need mort and I to come in and wreck the place with ya. one week of record everything fix it in the mix
you would of course provide room and board 3 squares. or at least 3 squares.p i could sleep in the car

RAGER

Ok back to the estate thing. Got back in there the other day. We're trying to get a game plan together so we can eliminate all the actual junk and make sense of what's worth dough for the estate. Then there will probably be a couple sales.

There's one room in the house I never even went into. I thought it was just filled with cat shit for some reason. Went in there and of course it's filled with more vintage electronics stuff and this Oh baby!!

Collins 212V 1 audio console. 1967 or thereabouts. I'll bring it home and open it up to see what's what.

Did actually find a box of tubes and grabbed those. Not anything I can use probably but this stuff was on the bottom. Probably some values I can use.

It's an ongoing adventure.
