Yeah, I've seen a couple of these, locally. I think the spelling on the headstock is "Squier" Illiterate seller notwithstanding. The others I've seen have been $250 and up. I believe i read somewhere that these are Japanese Squiers, but never really took off. I don't know what I did with the link...

Oh, this is from when Fender took over DeArmond. They rebranded all the Dearmond models, like that Squier s-73 (rebranding the DeArmond/Guild that Kim Thayil plays). I remember that, they only tried it for like a year (they basically folded Dearmond)

There's a peavey 4x12 + supreme 160 head going for $300 in my area. Want the cab more than anything. Is it worth it? Is the head any good for stoner or should I just try to get the cab?

Some of the older Peavey cabs have Celestion speakers in them (G12-85K I think that is the correct label). I have a Peavey with those speakers (MS412, but some of those came with other speakers). They are kinda scooped and dark sounding (not muddy but scooped). They handle 85 watts each (per speaker), so pretty indestructible. I paid about 120-150 for the cab. I don't know anything about the head. The cabinets are brick shithouses though, they are built very solid.

I personally like more mids in a guitar cab. Scooped is too modern sounding.

Cool deal on the bay for this Marshall type Garnet Deputy.

Garnet basically made clone ish amps so like the BTO and Pro models were orange-y and the Deputy was Marshallish. The Session Man was Fender bassman like.

$500 plus shipping gets you some good sound for sure, though be advised this model is only slightly sought after.
We love Garnets here in the Watch Husky Burn fold, as most of you know.

The real shame here is one of the things that makes an S-100 so great are the pickups. The re-issues branded Guild had them. These are not them I'm afraid.

If they dropped the cab and the price proportionately, it would be a hot deal. Still not a bad one, but not many people want that cab with the head. Let alone the $100+ shipping charge that goes with it.

There's nothing wrong with that cab, I'd say it's worth 130-150 bucks. More if there are good speakers inside... might have Celestions in it.

Oh, it's still a good deal. It's just if it was a $250 BIN for the head alone, it would be a great deal. I have noticed there are a lot of old Peavey listings on ebay where they bundle the cab and the head. For good reason, it's pretty hard to sell those types of cabs and get any reasonable amount of cash. So it's kind of like you get a good deal and a cab you don't need or you get a good deal and now it's on you to try to sell that cab and make enough profit to cover the cost and the shipping and make the head a great deal.

Still a good deal though, if someone has that much to spend and needs a 412 cab. That's a solid rig.
