Pastry dough. Eggs, flour. Better yet just the yolks.

just spotted a 4-pie electric at __zon. $40 but didn't look like it browned as well. tricky business.

Ours was pan steel but there are cast iron. Puttem' right on the flame! we buttered both sides. Totally no clue what mom made for the pastry. Empanada stuff would do the trick. Oh, frozen pie/pastry sheets. Two pieces of bread works - we did that too. You name it - two pancakes? Go.to.town. with it.

Thanks! that got me closer search-wise. It was a round "pudgy pie" or "round pie" iron or cooker for camping - we used it at home. they were great for pocket sandwiches of all kinds. Kinda fun like a pot pie!

I'm learning that having a $2k + guitar isn't easy for me to maintain.  I bought a 1992 Les Paul about 18 months ago, and have failed to connect with it to this point.  I shouldn't be surprised really.  I've played them before, and never fell in love.  But for some reason having one was on my list, and a '82-'92 model in particular was what I wanted and got.

But since I've gotten it, it feels like a chip I might need to cash in when times get lean.  For example, my kid will be attending college next fall, and I'll be staring at $15k/yr to fund it.  Not exactly easy to budget $1250 per month.  A Les Paul not being used could help me out a great deal, as other key pieces in my gear arsenal could.

But I don't think any other piece in my collection has more of a bullseye on it than that one.  Like the crosshairs were trained as soon as it crossed the threshold.   I have a couple of basses that might get close to the same sell price, but I'm too connected to them to consider it.   It's almost the curse that goes with owning it - it's worth a lot, so it's difficult to keep.

i called perfect circuit and told them sternly wagging my finger "its over". not a sucker for their bs "add $32 for protection" to a $300 module. told my rep all links to them are deleted. optional but total bs. next

edit they were last resort anyway although great employees and lineup but ah hellnah. their website and demand to signature at delivery were always difficult. too bad. no one else asked for sig. way easier/pain free elsewhere.  i buy from noisebug, detroit modular, and, analoguehaven. the latter getting the bulk of it since 2023. detroit is good too.  noisebug is special but quirky, which is good. i'll call them now for a eurorack thingamahbob. f pc, buh bye

growing up between 8-14 we used to home make from scratch tuna pot pies; a metal clamp contraption, two halves not sure how mom made those but wow good. slightly crispy and browish toasty oven baked pastry outside they looked like bloated hockey pucks, or ufos. darn tasty in the 70's

underdone, overdone, and just right.

i had a tuna pot pie two weeks ago. a little thick on the texture. okay but no Banquet thats for sure. probably healthy though, didn't scope the ingredients. local grade versus institutional, so

You didn't ask for it but here it is!

Frozen chicken pot pie shoot out!

Apologies. This a copy pasta from Imgur. You already know these things about me.

I haven't had a frozen pot pie in probably 20 years maybe. I tend to do a lot of scratch cooking. I have a friend (that's you Dave) who posted an also not very scientific "review" of the Banquet pot pie so I got inspired to do this.
Bear with. I get impatient.
These are the brands and prices. USD. Far left, $4.79 middle $3.29, right $1.00. That's right a buck.

All different cooking times at 400°. Left to right 40 minutes, 34, and 50

Marie Callender's had no bottom crust but the other two did. They all pretty taste the same. The big difference is ingredients and price.

Conagra is probably an evil empire too. Somebody check out if they're a super polluter or some shit.

In summary, if you're not susceptible to hypertension and aren't worried about processed food, Banquet is the way to go to stretch your dollar.

I hope you enjoyed my findings. And if you didn't, that's ok too.
