I really only took a decent shot at a reasonably close cover one time.  and I still had to fuck around a little, but I was pretty true to the form, for a while anyway.
my one shot was white rabbit, and I added a whole jam/solo section onto the end of it

Not sure if I have posted this before or not but here is a cover of Pretty Vacant by the Sex Pistols. I played all instruments and did the vocals. Wasn't being too serious just trying to learn how to track a whole song by myself

If I get proper clearance to do so, I'd love to post the audio of the crazy post-apocalyptic jugband version of 'Ring of Fire' that Eric Tessmer Band recorded with me on 2nd guitar and Gian Ortiz (Amplified Heat, their current new bass player) on washtub bass, recorded for use in a popular major-network TV show

this is ridiculous but whatever.  At about 4:20 (of course), my band from 20some years ago goes into a Rush cover at our reunion show from a couple years ago.  and the video and audio go totally out of sync but it's funny.... to me at least.  I'm the fat guy without a shirt

My old band SANDIA MAN covering Steely Dan's "King of the World" in an obnoxious, post-apocalyptic, sludgy manner as befits the dark lyrics:

Hello one and all
Was it you I used to know
Can't you hear me call
On this old ham radio
All I got to say
I'm alive and feeling fine
If you come my way
You can share my poison wine

[Chorus]
No marigolds in the promised land
There's a hole in the ground
Where they used to grow
Any man left on the Rio Grande
Is the king of the world
As far as I know

I don't want your bread
I don't need your helping hand
I can't be no savage
I can't be no highwayman
Show me where you are
You and I will spend this day
Driving in my car
Through the ruins of Santa Fe

[Chorus]

I'm reading last year's papers
Although I don't know why
Assassins cons and rapers
Might as well die

If you come around
No more pain and no regrets
Watch the sun go brown
Smoking cobalt cigarettes
There's no need to hide
Taking things the easy way
If I stay inside
I might live til Saturday

[Chorus]

JustJon on the bombastic drums, Sven on 4-stringed subsonic vibrations.

^that was good, especially when it got rolling in the middle.

this whole thread was pretty funny, except eric tessmer. he is seriously talented.
I definitely like interpretations better than trying to knock off a cover exactly.

Here is me interpreting Alice In Chain's "Would" on acoustic guitar. I'm primarily a drummer but I still think it's pretty good. Changed up the time signatures, etc.

Agent, that AIC cover on acoustic guitar was really fantastic.  I liked the interpretation.

Lots of good stuff.  I'll have to figure out how to post an mp3, as I've recorded a cover of War Pigs with a backing track that I downloaded.  Went Guitar > Green Russian Big Muff > computer.

this is turning into a very good thread.

that was funny: so it's like i'm sitting in the guitar case carefully listening to father oblivions careful AIC song. Then, still sort of in that mode the sunshine of your love hits and about knocked me out of my chair. that raged. tha would be so sick on an album. you wouldn't know what hit you

I seriously should delete my song. most of these songs are actually good, and what a spectrum of sounds.

that celtic frost thing would be sick live really loud. holy shit.

eyeprod, the video maker made a pretty cool video.

this thread would make me a nice radio station right here.
