You also might have some random local stuff whereever you live here in Chicago I can think of two offhand.

I also find it hilarious that nobody mentioned http://theobelisk.net/obelisk/ yet.

I also forgot to mention theres a very long Stoner/Doom Bassists thread on talkbass in the bassists subform you can probably post in to get some listens.  The Bongripper/Monobrow bassists post in it a lot too which is pretty cool.  But yeah making a long list of review sites and podcasts isn't a bad idea I am almost done recording my solo effort and want to submit it everywhere when its done as I am sure most of us in this forum want to as well.

Doomantia must be a good one, I remember when we first popped up they copied an article from the sleeping shaman about our demo coming out, and for weeks later we had a crazy amount of bandcamp traffic coming from them, there's never been that many views from anywhere else!

could have done with this when Thorun threw up its last CD... I spammed about 20-30 sites, most of whom had review and liked our previous CD... and I think in total we saw 5 online reviews. Damn, did the CD suck that bad???!!!  :-[ :'( ;D

We've had a tough time getting our latest reviewed. I don't have the hard numbers on how many we've sent off, but not many bites.

I'm not sure how much proper reviews even matter anymore.

blogs are handy for spreading the name. we maybe sell a CD every 2 weeks, no quitting the day job yet. However, they're being sent to Texas, Netherlands, Russia, Germany, Poland... there's a guy in Texas wearing one of our tshirts!! insane!  8)

why bother trying to get reviewed? I doubt it really matters these days when no one cares. I'd say try to make a really cool/catchy/interesting video, put it on youtube and try to get it going yourself. You can have a shitty song, but a good video and you'll get more hits than any blog can offer you, I would bet. more hits equals more chance of making a sale, which is what it's about, or am I way off base? I don't promote shit anymore. no one cares and the music business is lameness.
