I've been starting again with Lost, and remembering how much I love this genre. Also totally dug Lord of the Flies (the last version that came out in the 90s) and Castaway (until he got rescued, when I got bored). Any other recommendations? I've seen a few episodes of Naked & Afraid, and it's alright.

It's not been released yet, but if this comes anywhere as close to the book, it should fit right into what you are looking for.

I've become a bit zealous about this book.
It's fun and the protagonist is pretty much a jackass/little genius.

Read it and then go see the movie!!

you are correct, I was thinking what would I want if I was stranded on an island. of course without electricity, the shit would be useless anyhow, but whatever. you shouldn't make this shit so difficult..

Ah yes, based on "The Most Dangerous Game" - a short story written in 1924 and remade as a movie many times. Haven't seen any of the film versions, but maybe I'll do a bit of exploring. Thanks for the Hulk episode, brings me back to childhood.

Does the whole "trapped in the mountains and forced to resort to cannibalism" thing count?  Alive etc.?

Nah, there's something about building a treehouse out of bamboo etc. that's more intriguing than "how soon do we eat each other?"
