Anyone have a good recipes to share for making stuff in a crock pot? I need some new stuff to make because I constantly rotate between the same 6 or 7 dishes.

I make a sort of Italian beef with just a chuck or sirloin if you're feeling rich roast and a large jar of banana peppers, stems and all. Pour the whole jar in the crock pot with the brine and all and cook on high for 8+ hours. The only thing is that you have to pick out the stems when it's done (unless you use pre-cut banana pepper rings). The brine does a great job of seasoning the beef and makes it juicy.

Today, I am making a bastardized version of carnitas, with a pork shoulder roast, garlic (a couple roughly chopped cloves), one large white onion, chopped up cilantro, 2 juiced limes (also just threw the limes themselves in there), a couple of jalapeƱos that turned out to not even be spicy at all, cumin, chili powder, sea salt, black pepper, and 16 ounces of orange juice. Garnish will be extra cilantro and a lime, with white corn tortillas, beans, and rice. Maybe some queso blanco if I can find some. Here it is at the beginning stages:

My new favorite is chana masala in the slow cooker:

Please excuse the shittily chopped cilantro.

You better have saved me some of that. Looks amazing.

I don't really have counterspace for that. I'm also cooking less "big pot of food" recipes (I end up overeating, usually) except now I have a working freezer again, and crock pot recipes probably freeze well. Maybe I should reconsider.

they're fantastic.

there's like eight million recipes for it that I probably won't try. But the stuff I do use it for (rice, beans and fast cooking ribs or shoulders for soups) it's perfect.

really easy to use too.

Thought about getting an instapot but I done really cook like that. I like the result of a slow braise better.
