We've been asked to play shows throughout the pandemic, the last time being last week. I've of course turned them all down because we aren't assholes. And the plan is that hopefully by sometime in the summer we'll get back to playing shows, if things keep improving of course.  All that being said, I'm curious what everyone's else's timelines are to playing out, or even going to shows are.

When 70%+ of the population is fully vaccinated and the overall new case rate is below 5,000 per day.  Currently we are at over 60,000 new cases per day which is almost double the first wave in March/April of last year.

personally for me, i feel like late summer, at an outside show would be a possibility. i pretty much agree with sub on the daily case counts and the population being vaxxed. im not sure enough of the stupid american population will get the vax to hit 70%.

All of the bands who are playing out and have continued to do so, around here anyway, are fucking terrible. And are mostly But Rock trailer park metal bands. Which I'm sure is no coincidence.

I would imagine many bands have broken up over this.

Thats the thing, i dont know. The way things are with covid right now, im thinking no. But alot can change between now and 3 months from now. I see a ton of shows happening all over but everytime i turn on the news, things seems as bad or worse than they have ever been. Im trying to figure out whats what. None of this is making sense to me anymore.

RAGER

Be like every other band. Commit now and pull out later if you don't think it's safe.

What is really wearing on me is that pre-pandemic I was jonesing to get something together and get back out and play. It has been many years. Thanks to all the idiots this thing has dragged on so long that I have yet to be able to even put a group together.

Spiking like hell in Austin. Breakthrough infections mainly.

Bowing out of gigs again for a bit

I've been jonesing to play. We had 3 pretty big gigs lined up for April and May of 2020.... Suffice it to say those didn't happen. My last gig was 4 years ago the week before my daughter was born, it was the Dirtbag Challenge party (crazy motorcycle building competition)

As for when I'll feel comfortable? Outdoors, maybe in the spring/early summer? Indoors..... Who knows.

Feels like a lull here in Austin so cautiously jumping back into it. Will def mask up in the venue, play in a mask if need be, and spend lots of time outside.
